Rubina & Isaiah are the ideal hosts and their homestead is truly tranquil; if you've been thinking about coming here and haven't yet, take a moment to reconsider that, and then go book your stay. Their website has all you need to be "in the know", but I'll add a bit (and more!) below.
Here's the quick rundown: Hosts - 5 stars; Location - 5 stars; Interior Space Cleanliness & Comfort - 5 stars; Kitchen Set-up - 5 stars; Outdoor Offerings - 5 stars
Nestled into the countryside village of Nelsonville, The Tomorrow River Homestead is a peaceful place to come together. It is well appointed with all you might need to cook, relax, have fun, sleep well, clean-up, and harmonize your spirit. The abundance of space - 2 gathering rooms, 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a large, comfortable eat-in kitchen, plus the art area - lends itself well to family and/or friends meeting up to share time. That abundance of space isn't just the building though; while walking the acreage that makes up the Homestead, there's chickens to visit, a meandering river to canoe or kayak, opportunities to see deer, rabbits, nesting birds, hawks and eagles, as well as a cozy firepit area, and yet - so much more too. Think - no constant background noise, just nature at its finest - and on a clear night, a sky full of stars. This place is that kind of tranquil.
And, as for the location - you could not be more centrally positioned. Starting in Nelsonville, you could take a canoe or kayak ride down the Tomorrow River into Amherst, and enjoy food & drink as well as shopping. If you drove West 20 minutes you'd be in downtown Stevens Point, which has no shortage of activities from museums (the Children's is good) to water sports (boating, tubing, etc.), to food (hit up Father Fats or Wicked Willow) & drink (there's no shortage of bars here), as well as great shopping. Some of my favorites stores are Low Process General, Bound To Happen Books, Agora Makers Market, Caravan Wine, Main Grain Bakery, and Ruby Coffee - whose headquarters are in Nelsonville, as is their little café (open on the weekends) and across the street from the Homestead. Clearly, the location is spot on.
Staying here gave our group the opportunity to laugh with abandon, talk from the heart, heal as needed, and be our whole selves without worry of disturbing anyone else. We prepared our meals, relaxed in the gathering rooms, played games, laughed out loud, rejuvenated our spirits on the land, went to bed each night in exhaustion, slept deeply, awoke refreshed, and left knowing we were ready for anything. That's the best kind of place to stay.
Being here will replenish you in ways you didn't know you needed, and you will leave revitalized and reenergized. There's not many places to stay where the land, not to mention the hosts, welcome you as fully as the Tomorrow River Homestead will. Come. Stay....
Read more2020 blessed us with multiple wedding plans that led to the most special day ever...at the TOMORROW RIVER HOMESTEAD!
We were able to plan our wedding with 6 weeks! We were very fortunate that Rue and Zay allowed us the opportunity to host our wedding rehearsal, ceremony and reception on their property. This place is ONE OF A KIND. The uniqueness of the home and outdoor space left us with minimal things to consider leading up to the big day. We were able to transform one of the rooms inside into the most intimate ceremony space.
A huge thank you to Rue and Zay for being prompt and truly adding to the overall experience. They gave us all the recommendations and advice we needed well in advance. The vendors we used in the area: Eleonore at Village Hive (weekend catering), Main Grain Bakery & AC Sons for table/chair/arch rentals.
We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a retreat or to host a small gathering, get-to-together, or...
