This is the premier shop for fly fishing. Whether you're a seasoned expert, a novice new to the sport, or like me fall somewhere in between, Upcountry has everything you'll need to get out on the water, including the latest in new equipment, the best in lightly used gear, and the sage recommendations of an expert staff. And if Grady doesn't have it on his shelves, he can find it for you - something I know first-hand because he's done it for me. Grady sets the bar, with a passion for fly fishing that's exceeded only by his commitment to his customers - something shared equally by each member of his staff. Their selection is extensive, their prices are reasonable, and their individual and collective knowledge of fly fishing the Farmington is unsurpassed. You'll feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and feel like family by the time you leave. In between you'll enjoy and appreciate the time and attention given by Grady and his staff offering helpful suggestions, sharing practical advice, and answering all of your questions no matter how many you ask.
Upcountry also offers several classes to improve your fly fishing skills and make your fly fishing experience more enjoyable, and you can schedule a day on the water with one of their experienced local guides. This gem of a store is conveniently located along the banks of the Farmington River, where you can practice a few casts before deciding which rod to buy. And don't forget to check out their selection of used gear and clearance items at greatly reduced prices. Like the prices, the store and the staff...

It was just a weird experience and I was hoping for a friendly shop interaction and got none of it. Next time...

And at a really affordable price. A new way to fish I can't wait! Great place and even...
