We have stayed at SpringHill LaGuardia countless times in the past & always had great experiences. Unfortunately, this time was not so great. We were there for my mom funeral & was hoping to get a decent night(s) sleep after driving 10hr. We have always felt comfortable at the hotel but after a long drive and mom's viewing that night, we return to get some rest when we finally lay in bed sadly, we found out late that night both beds Squeaked Horribly Loud! Every time someone turned in bed it was loud noises, so it was very difficult to get any rest. The kids often got up and sat up in bed because they couldn't get any rest. Secondly, there was a Horrible Red stain on one side of the bed, between the nightstand and bed. It almost looked like blood and looks like it was traced/tracked throughout the room towards the door, it did creeped us out, I had to take a pillow and cover the large stain by the bed so the kids don't freak out. But at that point we were too exhausted to request another room etc. because we had already unpacked and sanitized the room for our stay. Also the shower curtain did not reach the base of the shower, so water constantly poured out and puddle in the bathroom, every time we took a shower and the fan did not work in the bathroom. There was no lighting by the front door or mirror closet, so it was difficult with dressing, we even moved the lamp over yet it did not make a difference. On the day of the funeral our vehicle was blocked in where they park the shuttle and we asked the person if they can move up so we can get out, so we are not late for the funeral, the person was about to move up but the Valet told him not to and then proceeded to argue with my husband. We kept telling him we are running late for a funeral and he said, you just have to wait and refuse to help. This was so ruthless!
As you can imagine, this was/is a very sad and stressful time for us and all of this really added to it. This has always been our go to hotel and we often recommend several friends/family. But we were every disappointed in the stay, but we choose to not say anything because my mom funeral was more important. We have to return in the future for my mom's final Spreading of the Ash Service and we are not sure how we feel about staying here after this experience. We did mentioned at checkout about our experience, we were told that they will the Management know about all the issues we experienced. Unfortunately, no one...
Read moreVery disappointed. The worst Mariott Bonvoy/ SpringHill Suites my family has stayed at. My advice * avoid this place *. General Manager is not customer friendly. Does not realize he is in the hospitality industry. In that this Marriott brand is independantly owned it is apparent they don't subscribe to the same standards as the corporate-owned hotels. I got the impression that the hotel is operated by the parking contractor Propark as they determine not only the hotel parking policies but also the guest health and safety protocols. This hotel has a parking garage and valet parking. In this still COVID heightened environment, given my admission to the GM and Propark Mgr of my recent experience with COVID, I insisted I park my own vehicle. I explained to them I wanted to avoid the risk of COVID, particularly since the valet attendants did not wear masks. The Propark Mgr and Hotel GM refused this accommodation! I then asked that the attendants wear masks if I couldn't park my own vehicle. They refused that request at which time I refused to comply with this patently unsafe/ unacceptable practice and proceeded to park my car. The GM then threatened to have my vehicle towed!!!! I just took my vehicle and parked on the street for the duration of my stay. Add to this, the mishap they call breakfast. During my stay they never had a full complement of the breakfast food or dishware for guests... always a wait for bowls, dishes, hot food. On a Saturday morning (5/21) they had one person staffing the kitchen and dining room...ridiculous !!!. Ask for a full set of towels? Forget about it, they'll forget the wash cloth or the hand towel. Where's the value in going to a Marriott these days? There is no daily bed linen or towel service like with any other hotel. They need a new...
Read moreMy son had called the hotel before booking it to confirm that they will provide a shuttle from hotel to the airport, all I had to do was call them upon landing. I landed in LGA airport at 11.50 pm on Jan 03 2019 and since I was on wheelchair, the airport authority called the Springhill Suites LGA Airport to confirm the shuttle. The hotel advised the shuttle was on the way but I waited for over an hour and no one came. I called back to check on the shuttle and the hotel front desk said they do not operate after midnight and I must take a taxi and pay for it myself .Next morning when my son called in to speak to the manager Roxanne to resolve this issue, the manager made an assumption and was immediately very rude to my son stating that I was asking to be picked up from JFK last night , which was not the case at all and the complete opposite of what actually happened. She further lied saying that they operate until 1 am instead of midnight. She also told my son that if he wanted the problem to be resolved then he should respect her which I do not understand. Since when did a Marriott employee become so demanding with an attitude and since when did the guest who gives Marriott the business become a beggar ? The manager Roxanne further threatened us that if we want the matter to be resolved, we must speak to her nicely, made us seem like we are begging for service from her.
I waited in the cold at midnight with no service from Marriott and to get such a nasty attitude with lies from the hotel staff is beyond my imagination coming from Marriott. My son is a regular Marriott guest and to get such disgusting service from this hotel...
