We had a Mother's Day Brunch Cruise on Skyline Princess from 1 World's Fair Marina to celebrate my parents' pearl wedding anniversary (30 years) and mother's day (same day this year) and it was amazing. The food was great. The boat was clean and beautiful. The staff was very nice and professional. I think this might be one of the best brunch cruises we have been on here in NYC over the years. There were a few sticking points because of which we didn't try this cruise before but I am glad we finally did. And this might become our go to. Our first worry was that this is a far out of the way Queens pier instead of the Manhattan or Brooklyn piers that are easy to get to on subway and our usual go to. No subway goes here but on the plus side there is in fact a bus and then there is a large number of free parking here, especially for NYC, if you come with a car. We actually had a leftover day from renting a car for something else so we got there by car, which was easy, but the bus seems to be fairly accessible as well. Another thing is that this cruise is longer timewise them all the brunch ones we have tried before and from experience the music on board can get tiring for some so we were worried that twice the time meant twice the headache but alas it's a VERY well insulated cruise boat and if you step outside into fresh air then you can't hear the music at all. Also the volume was low enough to hear each other talk and was inoffensive. Which is great and not something that all cruises have. So twice the time on the boat instead became twice the blessing instead of the curse we were worried it would be. In fact we had ample time to eat, talk, go outside and breath some fresh air. It was nice and unhurried. Another thing and why were tempted to try it is that this is a "buffet cruise" instead of a "pick one main course and one dessert cruise but here is unlimited booze" like most brunch cruises you can find. Instead the alcoholic drinks are limited unless you buy the unlimited drinks pass. And I found this tradeoff SO much better. Less rowdy drunk passengers on board being obnoxious and ruining everyone's good time and more oriented on good conversation over a lot of good food with ample great time to enjoy it AND talk to each other. Plus the area by which the cruise travels some of the way is a lot less traveled by most other cruises we have been on so the view is not boring at all, and it does hit all the standard landmarks, although even better it hits them from a different angle which is great for photos if you are into that sort of thing. Overall this cruise is chef's kiss So in the end this is a longer, more food oriented brunch cruise but with alcohol available if that's your thing for pretty cheap with unlimited drinks pass. And I would say pricing wise it is pretty worth the value you get. We have gotten many other cruises before and even tried other skyline cruises just on different boats (btw skyline cruises are always good anyway) but Princess was a standout. Above what we came to expect from taking brunch cruises for a lot of special occasions since we lived here in NYC for the past...
Read moreI have to say, reading some of the reviews about other experiences made me very nervous about trying this cruise. I booked my dinner cruise for yesterday evening to celebrate my anniversary. When we first arrived, we were directed to our very own table, which surprised me because some reviews said that we would be seated with other people at the same table. Our waitress, Kelly, was so friendly and always came over at the perfect time. We were seated at table 8, right in front of the bar. About a half hour after we left the dock, the dinner was being ready to be served. Luckily, our table was the first to be called to get our food. Now, I am a very very picky eater and the reviews that I read were very negative. I had potatoes, baked ziti, chicken, and steak. The woman at the buffet was nice enough to give me the well done pieces of steak, just how I like it. When I sat down and started eating, the food wasn't bad at all! The pasta was yummy, potatoes perfectly soft, steak was juicy and flavorful, and the chicken perfectly marinated. I was impressed. After dinner, we walked around the boat to see some view of outside. They were amazing and gorgeous views!! Definitely a HUGE pro. As we were waiting for dessert, our waitress volunteered to go outside with us to take pictures of us. She took about 10 photos, without me even asking, and they were all perfect! She even knew the right time to take a skyline and statue pic of us. We went back inside for dessert and our waitress handed us her favorite dessert and said Happy Anniversary. She even gave us two glasses of champagne on the house! The dessert was the best part...we had a plate of chocolate cake, a sort of shortbread pie, and another piece of dessert. So tasty. The dance floor was open but it was so windy upstairs that no one really wanted to dance lol. Overall, I was very impressed with the experience and our Anniversary was perfect all thanks to our amazing waitress and the staff...
Read moreThe Skyline Cruises is the premier sightseeing and dining cruise attraction of New York City and one that has been consistently recognized for its amazing delicious cuisine and impeccable hospitality.
In May of 2025, I brought and treated my wife and myself for the “NYC Skyline Dinner Cruise” on the Skyline Princess Cruise. Our cruise departed from the World’s Fair Marina in Flushing, a neighborhood in Queens, New York, and featured a guided tour of New York City, and a very delicious three course dinner meal.
The cruise’s staff were very professional and polite, and they warmly welcomed us when we arrived at the departure port. They quickly escorted us to a very comfortable table, one that was positioned near the ship’s window, which gave us spectacular views of the city.
During our expedition, the ship’s tour guide & DJ did a great job on pointing out and acknowledging many of New York’s popular destinations, ranging from the Brooklyn Bridge, Roosevelt Island, and of course the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. The tour guide also played an eclectic selection of great music ranging from Reggae, R&B, Merengue and other popular songs from contemporary artists. My wife and I loved the views of these revered attractions, and the ship’s staff took wonderful pictures of us as we dined and danced on the cruise.
In addition to great views and music, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We both found our salad, fish and steak and Italian pasta entree to be well cooked, superbly seasoned and positively delicious!!! Our cheesecake dessert was also perfect!!!
My wife and I would love to thank the Skyline Cruises for an awesome dining experience and highly recommend for everyone to travel and dine with this outstanding sightseeing...
