This place is extremely crooked. When I stayed here, my husband was an employee. There was another younger guy around our age who worked there as well at the time who used to get verbally abused and harassed by the older staff as well as by the older man who was the manager. This was in 2019. The day before he quit, he told my husband he couldn’t take it anymore and good luck. Once that guy left, they moved on to verbally abusing and harassing my husband. Fast forward, I was on crutches and I couldn’t walk all the way up to where our camper was set up, so my husband gave me a ride on the golf cart. I guess he wasn’t allowed to do that, and this older woman with short gray hair who worked the night shift told my husband that night , well fiancé at the time. We weren’t married till a couple months later, that he couldn’t do that but understood why he did so and that she would let it slide and congratulations to our upcoming wedding. The next day we get a loud knock on our camper saying that my husband was on “probation “ for breaking the rules and giving me a golf cart ride. They have a separate area in the park for employees who live on the grounds, and I see the lady who said she would let it slide staring at me smiling while standing with another employee. Once the manager left, and my finance went back to work, the lady was starring at me and smiling. I said, “you said you would let this slide”? And she responds “well I’m not going to let a couple young brats break the rules and get away with it”.Then she started to walk up to my camper door, and I told her to move away from my doorstep. She continues coming up and I said go away from my doorstep I don’t want you near me. Then she pushed my door open with her hand and said, “you just watch! I’m going to get your husband fired from this place and you’ll be out of here by the end of the day!” And I’m like I’m recording all of this. “What are you talking about? You’re going to lie to get my husband fired because you’re upset?” And she yells back, “just watch!” And then she gets on the employee golf cart and rides away to the office. Mind you, I’m still on crutches, and I had to hobble my way back to the office to defend myself. Once we get to the front, I ask for the manager with the phone in my hand because I had a recording of that lady threatening me, and while I was waiting, that woman came into the office and started yelling at me and telling me, I’m marrying a lier and a bunch of other nonsense and so I hit record again because she’s in my face. I tell her I have a recording of her threatening me at my camper and I’m recording her now. She then tries taking my phone while almost knocking me down from losing balance on my crutches. Then the manager comes in and I said get this woman out of my face. The manager then proceeded to get in my face and telling me to “respect my elders.” I was 20 years old at this time and this was all extremely scary for me. Then the manager proceeded to start yelling and getting in my face as well and then my husband ran up to the front and had to step in between that guy and me because he was about to get physical. Then the manager got in my husband’s face and so one of the other park rangers had to de escalate the situation. I can’t remember exactly what happened. All I know is they were completely unprofessional, intimidating and the owner and that old woman are insane. That young man quit for a reason. The old guy then tried taking my phone too! He then told me know ones going to believe me and a bunch of other nonsense. My husband/ fiancé at the time, quit that day. We tried contacting corporate about the situation, but they sent us down a rabbit hole and then stopped responding in general. We also found out that they let this guy who was on the registry in Newport as a sex offender, stay at the camp with his pass , even though they KNEW he was on the registry. (They aren’t allowed to have guests who are sex offenders) my husband was friends with a woman who ended up quitting as well because they where harassing...

Purchased the membership to use as we travel across the USA. Have only so far stayed in a few and will review as I go. This one, was ok. We didn't arrive until 1 am so couldnt check in... So we took the first site we came to since we didn't have gate codes yet and my truck is kind of loud and didnt want to wake anyone. It was an rv site close to the main office and clubhouse. The next morning we went to check in. The lady who runs it doesn't seem to really want to deal with ppl. She seems to be in a constant state of running around like a chicken with her head cut off. During our check in, she got a phone call and before answering she said "oh its never good when blah blah calls"(i call him blah blah because i dont remember the name). Then she nervously repeated the same thing to blah blah when she answered his call.."oh this can't be good if I get a call from blah blah". My next dealing with her was the next morning. So after her call she showed us where we had to move to. I asked her why we couldnt stay in the one we were in and she said that we booked a tent site and all rv sites are full. Well thats weird cuz every other TT we have been to they have been interchangeable. But not here. Ok so be it(tho 2 days later and that same site is still empty🙄)We found a tent spot. Stopped in to ask a question at 1130 am, door was locked so I knocked, she opened it with a walkie talkie up to her face, talking back and forth with someone. I said I have a question and before giving me a chance to ask it, she says, the park ranger will be here in a minute, they can answer ur question. Now mind you we have been here 2 days by this point and not one single time was there ever anyone in the ranger booth to take our questions or concerns. The bathroom by the tent sites are clean and updated tho they have a regular door knob(and no paper towels to grab it) to get in and out of the bathroom...it's just very unsanitary. Showers had decent pressure and were hot and the shower stalls are private. Depending on where you stay in the campground, will determine how far you're going to have to hike to use the bathroom since there are only 3 with one of those in the clubhouse that has regulated hours of operation. The tent sites are uneven, full of roots and are on the smaller side. But you do have some privacy with the bushes in between most of them. You don't feel like you're camping on top of your neighbor but close enuf to hear their conversations. The beach is super close but you have to cross a highway to get there. With cars going at least 55mph, its a little like playing frogger and Russian roulette at the same time. Not sure why they haven't installed a skybridge or even a tunnel like other campgrounds on the coast. They have several activities around to do but there is no storeon-site. There used to be but was told they are understaffed and thousand trails doesnt want to pay for more staff so they closed it and turned it into storage. That's super disappointing cuz running to town for something simple like a candy bar isn't worth it. And what camper doesn't forget to pack something? I forgot a pancake flipper 🙄This is the second one we have come across that didn't have their store open. They are very pro-recycling here which was nice to see and their garbage is a giant trash compactor so no smells or full garbage cans to deal with. The roads are spacious for rvs to navigate tho you will have a wait if you get stuck behind one trying to back into their spot. It's far cooler here than inland so it was a nice break from the 100° weather. Overall it was good but you can hear loud vehicles from the highway but for the most part you only hear the ocean but not worth more than 3...

General Impression: Nice large campground with plenty of things to do and a woodsy campground vibe. Cost Free for TT Members, but ~$120 for non-members

Campsite: Campsites are tight and some can be challenging to maneuver into especially with large rigs. Campsite # 42 Campsite Level: Although quite a drop downhill from the road, the actual site did not require leveling blocks left to right. It was not level front to back, we had to put our tongue all the way to the ground, but in the travel trailer, we were able to accomplish a level site without the assistance of blocks. That may not be possible with a motorhome.

The site was listed as 42 feet, but we had to back the trailer all the way to the bushes, disconnect the trailer from the truck, and still barely fit the truck parked sideways in front of the site to fit.

Campsite Type: the pad was cement pad and gravel drive. We did not have any grass. The surrounding area of the campsite was dirt and mud. Back in. Full / Partial hookup: 50 & 30 #thifty with Full hook ups. They also had several dump stations available. Picnic table at our site: yes Grill: no Fire ring: yes Wifi: yes at the club house, no at the campsite. There are several spots that have Wi-Fi on the North side of the park, but (not surprisingly) that side is full most of the time. We experienced very poor cell service and were told that was normal for most cell phone providers. Verizon had no signal at our campsite. Propane fill: no Amenities: Bathrooms: yes, multiple. Showers: yes, multiple. The showers and bathrooms are more dated décor, but were clean. Dumpster easily located: yes, at the exists only. None throughout the park. Laundry: yes, but only on the North park side of the road. 6 washers and 8 dryers. $2.25 for wash and $2.25 to dry. They don’t accept change, they have a credit card system to pay for the laundry usage. Pool: yes, you have to go through the bathrooms to get to the pool area. They have a hot tub with a sign saying no children under the age of 6. Thank you, Thousand Trails! Playground: yes, one on each side of the road. Other facilities: Clubhouse on each side of the park with Wi-Fi. Room to sit and watch TV, play pool, or cards. Ping pong and shuffleboard in North Clubhouse. Foosball, and coloring sheets available for kids with small playroom in South Clubhouse. Tennis court, checkers, ladder golf and frisbee golf. They have a volleyball net during summer months. They also have a small mini golf course, but the equipment is at the ranger station across the road so make sure to pick it up first before you head to the North Park play. They also have crab and fish cleaning stations as well as multiple community firepits throughout the park. Dog friendly: Location and size of area: They have an off-leash dog park on the South park side of the road and there are several places to walk your dog throughout the parks. Pick up bags and trash can stations: trash cans for pet waste available throughout the park, but no poop bag stations. Camp store: None available. It appears they do have a camp store on site, but perhaps it’s only open during summer hours. They offer firewood for $8 per bundle and Ice for $3 per bag and they had a soda vending machine at the South side club house. Camp staff interactions: The ranger we worked with was super friendly and helpful.

Additional info: The closest town is about 20...

The park is adequate, but could be so much better. It felt as if the parks prime was in the 90s and has been let go ever since with minimal maintenance. When you first arrive, you are told to "Just drive through and snag any spot that you like." We had a 30ft trailer so it wasn't horrible, but it would have made me nervous if I had a bigger trailer and didn't know if there would be a spot left for me. RV spots are cramped and seems to have been put in haphazardly at whatever angle worked. Some are 90° some 45°, pull through spots are actually just a wide spot in the road. Be prepared to thread your trailer or RV through some trees. The picnic table at our spot was so close to the neighboring spot you could use their RV as a backrest! The electrical boxes all seemed to lean a bit for some reason and we're very rusted. The sewer connection sat out of the ground 8-10inches. After people disconnect from their trailers, the trucks are parked all over and makes the drive through the park a bit challenging if you are pulling your trailer in or out. Vegetation is overgrown. Which mades the small campsite feel smaller. Some sites have fire pits, some don't. Some sites have real fire pits with grates, some like ours had a semi truck rim. Classy! Facilities are a bit run down and limited. 3 men's toilets, 3 urinals, and 6 showers was my count. Women's was 6 toilets and 6 showers. For the whole park and it is a big park! The men's bathroom stalls are cramped. When sitting on the toilet, your knees are almost touching the stall door. And the stalls are only half walls. When drying off in the shower it makes it awkward when the person in the other stall is also drying off. The mens showers had small benches slapped together from 2x6s. The womens shower had no benches. Bathrooms were not really that clean even though they are closed from 830-930 every morning for cleaning. Why would you clean them in the morning when most people would be getting ready for the day?! Mini golf is 9 holes and looked to be in disrepair. Tennis courts were actually being repaired while we were there. Verizon cell service is non-existent at the park. Not really their fault, but be aware. The club house even had a sign pinned to they notice board asking campers to complain to Verizon about the crummy service. The beach access is through a narrow trail that is full of tree roots that you have to step around. Then you have to run across the 101 which can be pretty busy. The beach is the Lost Creek beach and is pretty nice. Be aware at the beach there is no water for hand washing or sand removal and the toilets are basic vault style. Needless to say, we don't plan on joining Thousand Trails and would only stay again if everything else was full. The staff we did meet were friendly.

Negative feedback is not our bag but this stop went too far. We arrived to Site 75 and found garbage in the firepit and thrown about the bushes. It rained the entire 7 days so firepit wasn't needed. Upon leaving apparently they decided that checkout was 11 instead of 12 (like all the other TT sites). So they knock on the RV at 11:01 to let us know (instead of at check in) and I tell her about the firepit and garbage. She left for a few minutes while we frantically pack up and came back to tell us that thefirepit and garbage was OUR responsibility to clean up. I let her know we are not liars and wont be cleaning that up for THEM. My wife came out and the employee decided to argue with her as well. We left completely frustrated and extremely upset at the confrontational employee who was completely out of line. We then checked the reviews and lo and behold the first review to pop up was a review of over a month old from the exact same site with the exact same cottage cheese lid, potatoes, and different garbage in the pit. So to the employee that called us liars, maybe check your reviews while your doing your research, before you look silly. We are not going back to this location unless changes are made. Already canceled our next 2 stays and working on the rest.
