Comfort Inn & Suites near Bethel College — Hotel in Newton

Very disappointed. To start with checking in the desk guy was nice an worked with us, get to our room an there’s a roach a literal cockroach running across the bathroom floor, the bedding hadn’t been changed there was dog hair on the pillow cases an sheets an blankets. 326 He then moved us to another room I believe 325 or 324 the mini fridge has brown residue on the bottom of it the ac did not get the room cold at all woke up sweating. My mother n law had to be moved twice. The morning desk person had to stock the food for breakfast and make it as well we got down at 7:45 and there was nothing not even coffee not to mention no coffee cups I brought disposable ones an handed my own out to 7 people who wanted coffee once it was done. Which my sister n law had to put the lids on to help the guy out this morning. The guy was busting his butt to do what should’ve been done the day before so breakfast would go smoothly. The pool bathroom looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks someone threw up or pooped on a towel an it was left in the corner with bugs flying around bathroom floor was just as nasty as the toilet. The door to the pool needs a deep scrubbing as well so be cautious there also you will have to ask for towels they aren’t with the pool and I tried using the sauna an couldn’t get it to come on. Told the new housekeeper who just started 2 days ago and they were in there scrubbing the bathroom before I checked out. A complete disaster if you have a funeral or something important I would not go here! Not how we wanted to spent the night before my grandpa n laws funeral with little kids. What. A. Headache.

First we were sent to a room that was never cleaned from the previous hotel guests. Blankets, towels, and garbage littered the whole room.

The second room we were sent to, (after the girl with lots of tattoos told us there was nothing she could do about the first room), had used floss pickers and food wrappers all over the place. There was even yellow pee dried on the toilet seat.

After getting in so late and needing a place to sleep, we made the best of a bad situation (a horribly disgusting situation). We decided that we would talk to Andrew, the GM, the following day.

He promised us a complimentary night at another comfort inn, and after nearly two hours on the phone with Choice hotels customer relations departments, they came to a decision to comp us 12,000 points. We were promised that the 12,000 points would definitely cover another COMFORT INN.

Fast forward. I called reservations to reserve a Comfort Inn in flagstaff AZ and we were told that Andrew and Customer Relations only comped us for a lower quality hotel in the area (which both have bed bugs in their reviews and cost less than half of what we paid). When I called customer relations to get this issue fixed, they hung up multiple times. We called Andrew back to request a refund because were not going to stay at a lower quality hotel than what we PAID for, and he lost his temper and told us he wouldn't refund us.

This is absolutely unacceptable and completely mentally exhausting. My hopes by writing this review is to bring awareness to potential guests at this hotel.

BED BUGS!!

I Was staying here for business. I’m a 21 year old pregnant female, who has never been in a hotel alone. I was going to be in this hotel for three weeks. The first night, i woke up in the middle of the night with bug bites. They were on my arm and looked like 6-7 mosquito bites, i searched and searched the bed and didn’t find any bugs. I stayed up that night. When the morning came, i contacted my boss, letting her know (she had creditials and all for the hotel because the company paid for it.) The bites swelled into big red swollen bumps. I had more of an allergic reaction than most would. She got me switched rooms. I called the hotel and they said the GM had went in and not found anything but they would “get me a new room if i liked” When i got off work that night. I went to the desk and asked for my new room key. “We can’t do that this late” the lady said to me. Once talking to her and her finally finding the information from the morning. She told me “well i wouldn’t take anything from your other room in there” I’m there for three weeks!! A lot of clothes washing later Fast forward Two night into my new room, i wake up again, itching. New bites. I searched and searched and FOUND ONE. I went to the desk right away at 12-1 am and took the bug

The only advice i got was her looking up home remedies for ME TO GO FIX IT. She handed ME trash bags for ME to go to the room and bag up the sheets and such and gave me new sheets. No new room or anything. Just advice on maybe how to get rid of them before i go home.
