Turkey Pass Campground — Hotel in Norman

Awesome staff here. We arrived after hours, GPS was not helpful, we mistook parking lot for road and had to un hitch to turn 32 ft class C around lol. Car rolled away from us downhill onto lawn 😆😆.it had been raining and we missed a nearby tornado the day before....AND we had a low tire sigh. Susan Snider worked late and was just leaving when she saw us chasing the driverless car downhill. She was so kind and friendly, so helpful stayed past quitting time to give directions and Help us. On the other hand, if the passerby that told us he videoed the runaway car ever posts that video, I'm not gonna be happy lolol. We were able to rehitch and find campground...we came in on wrong side of lake. We moved in to the most awesome campsite---turned out to be the wrong one.....they worked very hard to find us another spot and we extended our stay 2 more days. Campground was great, plenty of shade, clean, Lake within view. Showers needed scrubbing and better drainage, but lots of hot water. Park staff came to help us get tire off RV, we took it in and found stem was leaky. Can't recommend staff enough. Can't recommend campground enough, prices good, beautiful area. Lake was large red muddy lake because of all the rain they'd had. We weren't there to swim so that wasn't a problem. Would love...

We enjoyed our trip. There were a few things that equated to a deduction of a star. Bathrooms were out of hand soap and not super clean but it is a state park. The quiet hours are not really enforced as several of our neighbors played loud music and partied well into the night (the camp host was the spot across from us). There is only one dump station for those sites that don't have sewer. We were 5th in line at noon.

Things to note, there is alligator grass in all the grass so don't walk barefoot and watch your pets. We pulled off a few ticks from us and the dogs (seed ticks and line star ticks) so make sure you spray and check daily.

Also I am not sure with the park in pay how people know if spots are open and not reserved since there are no markings on sites and you are suppose to reserve and pay after you park?
