We stayed here last weekend and I told my fiancé to remind me to write a review when we left since we were beyond happy to have found this place. Biggest thing I was looking for was a kitchenette room since we were staying a few days, lets face how much cheaper it is to cook for ourselves than eat out every meal! They also had both a propane grill and griddle that the guest can use, they provided the grillware (tongs, spatula, and grill fork). This worked out great since I had a pork loin that I needed to cook up! Secondly we brought one of our dogs with us and they allowing animals was a great plus for us. Animals are family too and you can tell they believe the same! We are a BIG fishing family so proximity to the lake was an added bonus we loved! Out of the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough you don't mind the drive if that is something you are interested in. MY absolute favorite part of the hotel was the real pillows and blankets on the real beds! I always pack my own pillow and at least one blanket or sheet as hotels normally have the roughest cheapest linens. I did not even pull them out of the truck here I was so comfortable in bed! You guys are awesome, we plan to come back in better weather to actually be able to enjoy the area. See you...

My two little kids and I got stuck right outside the Colonial Motel on Friday 11/29 during the lake effect storm. We stayed for 3 nights. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment and of the owners. ||They immediately made me feel welcome and safe during a very stressful situation. The room was incredibly clean, comfortable and offered everything we needed including a kitchenette to cook dinners and store food. You can tell they take pride in their motel. The room was clearly recently renovated and modern and the bed was comfortable. ||More importantly, Lou and Bernadette were incredibly hospitable. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and safe. It truly felt like we were an extension of their family. They advertise family run business and they embody that 100%. They are good people and run a solid business. I believe their work ethic and kindness would have shone through even without the tough weather conditions. ||I cannot say enough good things about the Colonial Motel and I am thankful we found this place and Lou and Bernadette. Even my kids were sad to leave them! || We will definitely be back to see what the area has to offer. Knowing we have a safe and inviting place to stay is reason...

Stayed at the Colonial Motel for the first time after reading reviews of the property online. I had stayed at a nearby chain hotel on my first two visits to the area before finding out about the Colonial. The motel is a one floor motel with exterior entrances to each motel room where you can park your vehicle directly in front of your door. The motel appears to have been renovated inside and my room was spotlessly clean. A kitchenette was included with my room... Sink, larger compact fridge/freezer, stovetop with two gas burners, microwave, toaster, utensils and pots and pans. The room seemed to be well isolated from outside noise as it was very quiet despite some road traffic on nearby Rte 5. The shower was nice and hot and the shower head was adjustable to offer various spray patterns. Verdict: Great value for the price and I will stay at the Colonial again on future visits.

THERE IS A 24 HOUR GIANT EAGLE STORE 10 MILES FROM THIS MOTEL! HOORAY! FOOD! BEER!! Super friendly family-run motel. Great price and you can walk down to the beach to watch the sunset. We are a travelling band and the owner held the door even held open the room's door while we loaded our musical gear into the room for the overnight. Nice place to stay and fun if you want to chill out after a long drive and have a couple beers and cook some food on the GAS STOVE that comes in your kitchenette! They even put a little nightlight in the bathroom - they truly are the sweetest people. I also saw the owner bringing out freshly washed blankets in the morning and there were dishes and mugs etc ready to be used in the room. Awesome place we now consider it "our" motel when touring!
