This is such a tough review as we did like the antique feeling of the inn. However, upon our arrival we were not impressed by the outside of the place as it is in need of repairs and upkeep. Walking in 3 inches of snow on the walkway was another disappointing factor. This was before the storm! As we entered we were given warm greetings and shown to our room. Right away I had to go downstairs to ask for the heat to be put on. Our room was clean and efficient, but we felt we couldn't even talk above a whisper due to the proximity of the other rooms. A white noise machine in the hall would be fantastic!! The bed is like a rock! The bathroom has no heat and the shower head has painfully great water pressure. A rain head on the shower would have been inviting! Even the battery candles in the fire place didn't work. This was not a great choice for a couple to get away for the night. Felt more like an old fashioned boarding house. I went to get a coffee in the morning and another guest and I couldn't even find a spoon to stir our coffee with. And the coffee pods tasted like they were from a discount store. Lots of little things that could be fixed given the attention they require. Must say it was bad enough we even skipped out on the free breakfast. The price point of $200 a night is definitely not worth it.It was very clean and the greeter was very kind. Sorry for the bad review, but I believe it is helpful to know a guest perspective. Blessings.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful inn and loved the experience. The owner, Ciaran was a very welcoming and friendly host. The breakfasts were outstanding and the rooms were delightful and exceptionally clean. Highly recommend staying here. We can’t wait to return!!

My stay here was fine, the rooms are definitely old and floors tilt and you can hear everything but it’s quaint and is a good affordable option and I didn’t have any issues with my room. I liked the bathroom most of all. The host said he would prepare me breakfast to go, which was a kind offer since I was headed to work. When I was departing I went downstairs to say thank you and goodbye and collect the breakfast after having spoken with him about it earlier in the morning. I waited a few minutes, then knocked at their back room door, knocked a few times, said the hosts name loudly a few times, waited about ten minutes in total and had to leave for work finally without the breakfast. It wasn’t a big deal but I do think if they are serving guests that having a bell, or some type of communication would be important. Feedback. My primary issue with my stay here happened after the fact. I paid when I checked in, and the host required to take a card to hold the room when I made the reservation over the phone. I gave him an account I use specifically for work travel and keep limited funds in. Two weeks after my stay that card was charged, more than my original reservation and an amount not associated with my stay. It was concerning to me that my card was kept on file and could be charged at any time despite me not authorizing a charge and there being no reasons for a transaction. It also overdrafted my empty travel account. The whole thing was unfortunate and though the owner swiftly dealt with it and processed a refund when I called, I think showing more concern and apology would have been appropriate. I travel for work constantly and have for fifteen years and this is the first time I’ve ever been charge another amount randomly after the fact and found that my card was being...

Beware of staying at the Partridge House — you have to make sure you don't leave anything behind when you pack to go, because if you accidentally leave something important behind, they may keep it, even after promising to return it to you.||The stay itself was fine — I appreciated the local caramels and the design of the room I stayed in. The food was tasty and had surprising elements in it.||BUT ... I left behind my new Airpod Pros. ||I left an Airbnb message, then followed up with a phone call. Ciaran found my Airpods and another item I forgot to back, and told me that he would send them back to me. ||A couple weeks went by, and I didn't get my Airpods back. So I reached out again, via email and phone, and Airbnb direct messaging. ||I offered to pay for the shipping, and even sent him a USPS shipping label. ||Yes, it's my fault I forgot to pack my headphones. Yes, it's inconvenient to head to the post office to return something to a guest. Yes, I know he's busy running a b&b.||But this is the sort of thing that happens in the normal course of people traveling and staying at your b&b. ||I supplied the shipping label, so it wasn't about him being out the cost of shipping. ||It's really difficult not to feel robbed. He never responded to any of my messages after my initial note. I even followed up again a few times, months later, trying to avoid having to leave a bad Tripadvisor review.||The whole incident undoes whatever hospitality Ciaran and his family offered in the first place. I'm out more than $200 because Ciaran kept my expensive equipment instead of making good on his promise...
