I ended up staying here the night before and after a backpacking trip in Point Reyes. I must say this is a beautiful hotel to walk into and the customer service is on point.
My first night I was upgraded (based on availability) for becoming a member (it's free). It was a wonderful stay. After my backpacking trip I requested a bathtub instead of an upgrade. She allowed me to view the room and said if I changed my mind she would move into an upgraded room. The room still looked lovely and my joints were sore from backpacking so I kept it to have that soak in a tub. However, it was at the end of a hallway and so the door was super loud and I could hear people's footsteps above me very loudly, like stomping in the middle of the night - maybe it was from the stairs idk but it was awful. I think I will take the upgrade again next time as the bath wasn't as relaxing as I'd hoped. I have a huge tub at home and forget how small normal tubs are lol.
They have fresh baked cookies in the lobby at 7pm and if you forget little items they have them for free at the desk which came in handy because I wasn't planning on the hotel when I originally packed for this trip so they provided me with a real toothbrush and even a razor and q-tips.
They have a restaurant nearby that provides room service. The menu looked good but it was closed on Monday night which is when I stayed after my trip. I was able to order from Boca Pizzeria which had a full menu, not just pizza.
I was able to make a couple requests and they came through efficiently, like utensils and a glass because the door-dashed utensils were too flimsy for my meal. They were quick, friendly and knowledgeable. I'm sure if I wanted to switch rooms in the middle of the night they would have helped me.
Oh and the full breakfast was killer! Real food not just pastries. Perfect for pre and post backpacking. I will stay here again each time I make the trek the Point Reyes since it's a long drive for me. Great find!
I don't usually leave reviews but I certainly rely on them so I'm trying to get better at...
Read moreWhen it was time to check in they had nobody at the front desk so then the maintenance man had to come to the front desk to take care of business, he didn't know what he was doing as he admitted it.. but the front desk clerk was in the back minding the pool the next day the pool was closed for 2 days! they kept saying that they were cleaning it but nobody was back there cleaning ANY pool, when I was trying to find parking they were very limited to parking but staff was parked in the parking in customer parking at night they wash their cars there during the day and that's probably why the pool wasn't taken care of they're too busy watching employees cars there was this van that was like a champagne come color and that belonged to one of the employees there, that same car that I seen that they were washing was there at night, so we didn't have a choice but to park so far away from our room.. that's not good, I think everybody at this place needs to be retrained! to much Riff Raff at night there was a fight going on downstairs man and a woman yelling screaming and hollering, this is one of the worst experience I ever had and it's really sad because we stayed there for the pool and we couldn't even use it! they need more help as well at front desk, every time I call for something no one knew anything no one can give me a straight answer, I think your Clerk and staff should be more knowledgeable.. clerk wasn't around half the time and the maintenance man was taken care of the front desk he couldn't even find our reservation, WHY?? that's because he didn't know what he was doing it was irritating as all get OUT!! The whole staff from A to Z needs to be RETRAINED you need to hire more people at the Most professional Level and you need to have that pool accessible and open during the heat wave and quit WASHING cars! This hotel lacks a lot of attention...
Read moreIt was a very good stay for us at the Best Western Plus Novato Oaks Inn. The location is great – right off the interstate but tucked away on the hill far enough not to be disturbed by the road noise. This is perfect gateway to Marin and SF Bay area attractions, Napa; the Muir Beach is about 30 min away. The hotel grounds and building are very well kept. The lobby is beautiful with pleasing décor. There is a cozy sitting area with Nescafe machine that brews various types of coffee, and has hot water for tea, and it is available 24/7. You can look through art books and read a couple of magazines, etc. Our room was very spacious, and very clean; and so was the bathroom. AC in the room worked very well, and we were visiting during a super-hot week of October with temperatures outside rising to above 100F. All other areas in the hotel did not have AC and were getting pretty steamy. The hotel staff was doing a great job with strategically placing fans to provide much needed cooling. There is a nice area that is set up for breakfast in the morning. Here you are served yogurt, cereals, waffles, bagels, and some fresh fruit. Parking is spacious but a little dark in some areas. This parking is shared by the Perry’s restaurant, and it can get full pretty quickly during dinner hours. Perry’s is good, a little pricey, with average burgers. However, grilled salmon and sautéed sole were outstanding! We extend our gratitude to all the staff for being courteous, welcoming, and accommodating. Thanks to Kathy, who went out of her way in the middle of the night to provide us with...
