This Navy Lodge is awesome. We stayed here Christmas and New Year's 2023. Sorry, this review is so long. We stayed in several places during our vacation, on our way from California to Washington, and this was by far the best place that we stayed. The staff is awesome. They were very kind to us. We had some stressful times while we were in Oak Harbor, and most of the staff were very helpful, especially Michelle and Debbie. They were able to give us some resources that we needed, which really helped make the 2 weeks stay a nice time. We would definitely stay here again for business or pleasure. The room was large, and the beds were very comfortable. They are handicapped friendly and we had a large handicapped room on the first floor. The rooms were always very clean. Me-Me was part of the cleaning staff, and they did an awesome job keeping the room clean. They are pet friendly. We had 2 small dogs when we arrived. There was a broom that we could help keep the room tidy during the holidays when the staff got to spend time with their own family. There were also 2 nice dog walking areas complete with potty bags. The kitchenette was adequately supplied with dishes, pots, and pans, dishwashing soap and towels. The kitchenette also had an apartment size refrigerator, which really helped us keep our expenses to a minimum so we could cook in the room. The commissary and exchange are just down the road, which made it very convenient to do any shopping we needed. There was coffee and creamer, etc, available in the lobby 24 hours a day. The breakfast every morning was always very filling. They have a nice laundry room that was also very clean. It was nice to be able to do our laundry in a clean facility. 😀 If you are looking for a place to stay while in the Oak Harbor area, this is definitely the place to stay. It also helped with the cost of the room being half what it was in the local area. Thank you, Navy Lodge, from the...
Read moreThis was a great place to stay, The rooms were very clean, quiet, and updated.||This lodge, unlike the one in Great Lakes, IL, is actually on the base after the security checkpoints. Maybe all or most lodges are like this, but this is only my second stay at a Navy lodge.||The beds were comfortable and the rooms were so affordable (with no hotel taxes). The free breakfast is very limited, but still substantial - fruit, cereal, frozen waffles, bagels with cream cheese, some pastries, and cereal. There was usually some OJ, milk, and plenty of coffee. There were some small refrigerated items available as well: Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, cheese sticks, boiled eggs, yogurt, chocolate milk. It's not like many other hotels that offer free breakfasts where you make your own waffles and such, but not bad. There is very little room to sit in the breakfast area, so count on taking everything back to your room (hint: use the plastic tray that is under your room's coffee maker as a carrying tray). ||PROS|- Very clean and safe|- Comfortable beds|- Price|- Convenient location on base and down the street from the NEX and the Commissary|- Linen service and beds made every other day|- Nice TV with easy connection to your streaming accounts||CONS|- We never knew which gate at the base was going to be open in the evening, causing us to reroute several times (if these are standard times that are published, a schedule in the room- or anumber to call- would have been helpful)|- The toaster in the room didn't work (no big deal really). |- The hot water was scarce in the morning shower rush - to the point that it was a literal trickle, so be aware. Evening showers were no problem!|- Window only slides open about 6 inches||We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Just understand what you...
Read moreThe navy lodge at Oak Harbor is located at what is local known as the ‘Seaplane Base’ in the City of Oak Harbor as opposed to the Naval Air Station which is located a few miles to the north. The lodge is located on a hill in a peninsula that extends south into Oak Harbor, and is just up the hill from the base NEX and Commissary. The lodge is exceptionally clean and well maintained with large rooms and kitchenette’s. I stayed in a room with 2 queen beds that were wonderfully clean and comfortable, each had 4 large pillows. The wireless internet service was good and a password was not required. The rooms included a coffeemaker and full kitchen with microwave and oven, toaster, and pots and pans. Also included were an iron and ironing board, laundry basket for the free laundromat, hair dryer and complimentary bottles of water. There is also a light breakfast included and for the $100/night fee inclusive ( June 2024) I felt that it offers high quality and cleanliness at great value. The only curious thing is that the 2-Storey lodge does not have an elevator, so if you’re mobility limited you should request a room on the...
