Highland House Yosemite Vacation Rental — Hotel in Oakhurst

I cannot possibly tell you how amazing this place is in words. It's a must if your visiting Yosemite. We've been road tripping around California and to come here after the city tours in San Francisco etc is just amazing. ||Its a charming b&b and your made to feel at home instantly. Mike is so lovely and kind and I briefly spoke to his wife on the phone on arrival she sounds so lovely to. Penny makes breakfast each morning and it's delicious! Hot and cold options with fresh orange, coffee, tea whatever you like. ||The b&b is just beautiful from the patio outside where we sit and watch the dear and birds. To the games room where you can play pool or put on an old school movie. I just love it. |I even started teaching myself to play piano in the living room. ||The views around the house are just beautiful and there are humming birds outside that Mike cares fir and I can just watch them fir ages at the window. ||Our bed is super comfy and cosy. Waking up to birds tweeting in the morning in the woods is just out of this world. ||Cannot fault a single thing. Thank you for an amazing stay. ||It takes about 1 hour to get to the Yosemite park bit with the views it's no problem at all do easy. The Mariposa town is small but very cute.||Don't hesitate to book you'll love it! ||Thankyou highland house for making our stay on our road trip so...

Thai is an amazing B&B the position is just so peaceful and quiet and right in the woods, with wild Turkey and hummingbirds in the grounds plus the occasional bear( didn't see one). It's about an hour or so from Yosemite but worth staying here just for the surroundings and the service you get here. Breakfast is stunning and the owner is great. He shows you round when you arrive and you can help yourself to any food from fridge and pantry and soft drinks. They have items for you to take for a picnic lunch and just everything you can think of and more. He is also very knowledgeable re area and further afield with great tips on places to eat or go to. Bedroomsl was lovely like rest of house. Wish had longer here really as can't fault it. No phone signal but WiFi is okish and free. Pool table and games are available as is owners vast array of books...

Abbiamo scelto questo B&B dopo aver letto le ottime recensioni su TripAdvisor, e in effetti nel complesso l'esperienza si è rivelata più che buona, salvo l'approccio iniziale all'arrivo.||||Arrivati infatti al B&B (che tra l'altro si trova in mezzo ad un bosco, con una stradina sterrata per gli ultimi 300-400 metri), vediamo una persona con valigia che sta entrando in casa. Ci rechiamo alla porta e cominciamo a suonare, ma nessuno ci apre. Dopo qualche minuto di insistenza è lo stesso personaggio (rivelatosi anche lui un ospite) che ci viene ad aprire e ci mostra una lettera (indirizzata a noi) appesa di fianco alla porta di ingresso del B&B.||||La apriamo. In questa lettera ci viene detto di fare come fossimo a casa nostra (se abbiamo bisogno nel frigo c'è ogni tipo di cibo) e ci sono due chiavi (camera e ingresso), e ci viene detto in termini generali che dovremo pagare la mattina seguente quando facciamo colazione.||Ma non si capisce se il padrone del B&B è uscito momentaneamente o quando torna.... starnissimo !?!?!?||La casa è praticamente disabitata !!!!||||Spiazzati da questa cosa non ci accorgiamo che è indicato un numero di telefono da chiamare al nostro arrivo (comunque strano)....||Sistemate le valigie in camera, scendiamo al piano sotto e troviamo due ragazze che si presentano come padrone di casa, ci chiedono se va tutto bene, ci prenotano molto gentilmente un ristorante in centro Mariposa (a 10 miglia) e tempo 5 minuti spariscono di nuovo.||||Rivedremo il giorno seguente una terza persona che ci prepara una colazione molto buona e abbondante e incassa il rate della camera.||Che esperienza strana ......||||Nel complesso il B&B non è male. La camera è carina e ben tenuta, anche se il bagno pur tenuto bene pecca un po' nei sanitari (WC microscopico ..... ma come faranno gli americani obesi a farla lì dentro ?) e nello sportellino della doccia (sembra di entrare in casello dell'autostrada), la colazione abbondante e molto buona, c'è poi un ampio salone dei giochi con tanto di Bigliardo, Libreria, Videoteca, mazze da Croquet, dama, scacchi e quant'altro)||E' piuttosto distante sia dal centro del paese (10 miglia = 15 minuti) che dal Mariposa Groove (infatti sono circa 50 miglia, senza dover considerare i navigatori perchè ti mandano su strade impraticabili e sbagliate)||||In sintesi, bella esperienza, ma che stranezza arrivare in un B&B e non trovare...
