Kicked out without letting us know ? We came at 10am and paid right away for 2 nights. Ranger saw us, we even asked if our position parking was ok. He said excellent. Then we went off to hike next morning, leaving our bikes chairs and lights at the site with slip to let know everybody else that we are still coming back. When we got back at 8-9pm , the site was full-there were 10 people with 3 cars and our stuff was moved to the side. They told us ranger let them go there. There was noone to talk to or noone to give us our money back. Luckily there was one spot that we were able to share with some other couple. So, I mean really? Read moreThis is probably THE best campground in all of Yosemite. It has all the amenities of the valley without all the overcrowding with the exception of showers. It's only first come first serve, however so if you are the type of person that don't like to take risks then this place is NOT for you.
It's also a good compromise as it's fairly close to Tuolumne Meadows (About 30 min) and about 50 - 60 min to the valley. Elevation is high (around 8000 ft) which means it's much colder than the valley and there is ABSOLUTELY no reception here (No Verizon, AT&T, Sprint,...
