PROS: Nice, clean, quiet. Everything you need for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. I especially liked that it was close to the park entrance so that my multi-day trip into the park didn't take forever each morning. Check-in is at a separate location 2.5 miles, less than 5 minute drive away, at Yosemite Cedar Lodge. Staff there was very nice. There's even a little shop there for gifts and basic necessities in case you forgot something or got hungry. I also liked that the kitchenette was supplied with everything you need to cook and enjoy a meal. There was even a propane barbecue oven outside the rooms for guests to use.
CONS: Beware, you will be COMPLETELY off-grid at Redbud Lodge. Not necessarily a bad thing, I just wish I knew this beforehand so that I could prepare with some downloaded music, movies etc. Yosemite Cedar Lodge does have a landline that you could potentially borrow if you needed to reach family but that's about it. I didn't get reception until I got into Yosemite Valley. My only real gripe about my stay would have to be the water pressure out of the bathroom sink; there basically was no pressure. Which didn't make sense because the bathtub ran at expected/normal water pressures.

Read moreWhile there is fine print on your booking to inform you that there are no phones in guestrooms, what it fails to mention is that there are no phones ANYWHERE on the property. There is no lobby as you check in at Cedar Lodge 2 miles away & therefore there is no one to help if you need them, from needing more pillows, through to an emergency. ||||Unfortunately for us, we did have an emergency. Things were ok, but I dread to think what would have happened if it had been life threatening. ||||The above reasons are what made me rate this hotel as average, unfortunately the staff at Cedar Lodge were not helpful initially when we wanted to move hotels (once we knew there was not only no phones but not even a lobby) because we had booked through a hotels site... its amazing how they could do "nothing" until we actually had our emergency and then they miraculously helped. ||||The room itself was nice, and were it not for the complications that no communication on site brings, I wouldve rated this hotel higher. There were decent beds and a kitchenette, it was clean & had a nice flat screen TV. ||||It was not accessible for those with disabilities either and the parking was limited. ||||Stay at Cedar Lodge if you're staying...
Read moreFirst off I don’t hardly ever leave reviews but I felt like I owed it to others searching for a place to stay. When we walked in we immediately went into the bathroom and noticed ants everywhere, especially in the tub. There were black spots on the ceiling just outside the bathroom. I don’t want to know what that was. When my daughter went to take a wash cloth from the counter it had a brown stain on it. We also discovered that the ants we saw in the bathroom were evidently everywhere because we had dead ones on the bottom of our socks. Also the toilet kept plugging up. I guess that’s why they had a plunger in there. Unfortunately that was broken also. In the other room we rented, the air conditioner was loud. It sounded like a pair of tennis shoes were in the dryer all night. Lastly, in that room the coffee maker didn’t work. We went to the office the next day and were told the hotel manager would be contacting us. It has been 5 days and we have heard nothing. I gave plenty of time for them to call and do the right thing. If for some reason the manager calls now I will update this review but I don’t see it happening. These rooms were not even close to worth the $220 per room. I feel sick I spent...
