This little hidden eatery was very rustic and down by the water way. Kinda, secluded with all that nature puts in the way. 👣 What a great place to get away for a hike and then stop got a bite to eat. I just the loved the inside decor. Rural but at the same time vintage. Quiet and quaint as I walked in and looked around. At first you are in a little store with wooden shelves and then in the dining area with a vintage lunch counter lined with stools. We find a table and right away and a young woman comes out to take our drink orders. The menu is simple with many fried items. Rocky mountain oysters were ordered as an appetizers. I wasn't a big fan at all! 🐄 I ordered the chicken stripes and fries which came with coleslaw. The grub was hot, fresh and plentiful! No room for dessert. 😔 The atmosphere and chatter was was appealing as locals piled in to dine 🍽 and experience this rustic, earthy eatery. Thank you for great food and a place chatter. 🗣

And it bears repeating, follow any dead end road toward a large body of water and you'll probably bare a little fishing community with a very local eatery. If the waitress has face tattoos... you're golden. Don't be shy, they will, nine times out of nine welcome you in. If your lucky there will be a fishing derby happening, that's the jackpot. Due to the fact these hang out's don't advertise, you'll have the place to yourself most of the time. All it takes is three words to get the proprietor talking about the weather. It's like spinning a marygoround you only have to put a little energy in to keep the conversation going. Cheers ain't got nothing on these joints. There's always a place to hang your hat and all the hospitality you can handle. I get the feeling the profitability comes from the rifraf souls who sonder in.

Hidden gem, literally. Located off of Hwy 92 without any signs pointing you in the right direction. Decided to give this place a try during a weekend getaway to McConaughey. Had the fried chicken, salad, and onion rings. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. 10 out of 10. The O-rings were a bit greasy for my taste. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in town.

Family run business. Very polite and friendly. Restaurant is clean and inviting with the walls decorated with fishing artifacts and a few snacks for take out. Prices are affordable and the menu has a wide range of options that should take care of everyone in the group. There is no sign directing the way to the restaurant on the highway or in the park. It was helpful for us to look on google maps before going and found it extremely easy to find. Very happy they are there. I hope they can get you to visit, and we plan to return every time we're...
