Although the hotel was pretty and nice throughout, my check in experience was not as explained with my gold elite benefits. All other stays I was welcomed as an IHG gold member, offered a choice between a welcome drink or welcome points, this visit didn't do any of the above. Very upsetting, I have spent more money than we can sometimes afford to booking and being a loyal ihg member but I don't feel like all the money and stays are worth it if the benefits I'm supposed to be recieving aren't even acknowledged by the employees here. When I asked about it she said to call back later and speak with someone else. That was only the beginning and first 10 minutes of being there, after a 3 hour drive to this location. Once we got up to our room the disappointment only got worse, the fridge wasnt working so we ended up having to buy a cooler just to keep our food and drinks from spoiling. The bathroom was beyond filthy as if it wasn't cleaned at all, almost like they just replaced the complimentary toiletries and towels, the tissues weren't even folded and everythint nice looking like any other hotel I've ever stayed in. It was unfortunate that there was no bathtub and only a shower as well. The free breakfast was very limited on selection, with the amount the hotel charges for a one night stay I think guests deserve more than cereal, an apple, or cold waffles as that's all they had. Breakfast area didn't look very clean or even sanitary so we ended up going out for breakfast which was not something that we budgeted to do on this trip with the promise of free breakfast. When the time came to check out the clerk simply snatched the room key from me while chatting on the phone, she didn't even speak to me, I asked her if I was good to go and she had me checked out.... no words, just a shake of her head and waved me out. Absolutely appalling that any employee would find that acceptable little less customer service period. I definitely will not return to this location again, I will also warn others of this horrible experience. This was a surprise trip to a concert for my husband's birthday to make matters worse, very...
Read moreI started staying at the Holiday Inn Express three years ago when I started coming to a doctor in Oklahoma City. The staff was always helpful and friendly towards myself and children. Since the first stay I have always returned to the same location and never considered any other chain or location for the convenience to the doctors I come to see. My son has an eye condition that needed attention every 90 days at first and then I started taking a long weekend to come to the malls to shop for school clothes and other needs. I now feel my home away from home is the Holiday Inn Express I-35. I have never failed to find a great breakfast and the quality is good and the variety is good.
As a young boy I always was thrilled when we would stop at a Holiday Inn for a night. The pools were always clean and fun for a child. The cafes always have been good and the new era of breakfast and then coffee for 24 hours is a sign the people who make the decisions are willing to change with the times and make the stay convenient and smooth. I love being able to walk down and get food walk back to my room and sit and eat. I can do this in less time than ordering from a café menu. I must say the café that is now associated with the motel that is next door is one of the best cafes to eat an order from the menu lunch or dinner and is nice to park after a days errands and just walk to a fine meal. The convenience store is also with in walking distance. There is just nothing I can say to recommend the...
Read moreGot called up to the city for an overnight stay and had to find a hotel close by after 4.
Called the first place and they didn't offer parking without paying and I wasn't into that. This was the second pad ve in the list. Called and spoke with the gentleman working the front desk and he was very pleasant and answered all my questions happily.
Drive over and noticed I still wasn't in the best part of town, but, he again assured me my truck would be fine.
The hotel lobby and outside was very nice, really not what I was expecting considering some of the other places I've stayed in lately.
I asked for references for dinner that night and he referred me to the restaurant next store, that didn't look like a great place but he assured me it was fantastic. He was actually eating dinner from there when I came in.
The rooms were very nice, clean and I love the soaps, shampoo and lotion available. I only needed a toothbrush and paste out of my bag, but could have also got that from them as well.
Three things I would suggest. First clean the remote for the TV. Mine had something on it from previous people. Second, update your windows for something that is a more sound dampening. This hotel is right next to the interstate and if noisy cars bother you it could be a problem. Third, start breakfast earlier. This is the third hotel I've stayed in that breakfast doesn't start until 6:30. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to be at work after 7am.
Other than that,...
