I love going to the Old Paris flea market whenever I'm in town. I used to go there on weekends with my friends on Sunday afternoons and we'd go walk around and look at the knives, brass knuckles/paperweights/belt buckles, the boots and pets and all the different vendors there.
I have run into a few different cool stories there. One time I got invited to watch football with a group that was trying to better themselves and started a league. They had all had pretty hard lives and got together to do something fun and spread awareness and come together in a loving way.
Another time I went was before I went to Colorado at the end of 2023. I had just gotten done with the Crazy Chicken and was having a hard time finding housing. I had been on the wait-list for a room at the motel for the past month or so and hadn't heard anything. I was living out of my car and doing a real dirty job cleaning up and fixing that restaurant. I found a spot at the Minturn Mountain Motel that was about the size of a closet. It lasted about 2 or 3 weeks before I decided I had enough of being treated that way. At the flea market on this trip I got some gifts for the people I had worked with at the crazy chicken. I got a knife for coco in the kitchen, a chicken statue for Kyle to put behind the bar, and friendship bracelets for the crew. I also had bought a hat from one of the vendors who was stationed right when you walk in. At the time, I meant it for another girl and I was so blind I couldn't see what she was actually doing to me. The man who was in the tent was mexican and spoke broken English. He watched me as I went through the hundreds of hats and picked out one I thought was special. It cost about $40. Before I left his shop, he gave me something to wish me luck. It was a wooden elephant keychain with the trunks up for good luck!!
Long story short, I never got to present the hat to that girl and I'm glad I didn't. Unfortunately it bothered me so much I had to mail it out. And I got a new hat for the person that means most to me. I also still have the elephant keychain and...

Read moreI normally love the flee market never had a bad experience until I got my kids a ring necklace with charm and earring so I spent over 600$. I went home and put it up in my closet until this weekend when I got it down to wrap it up and noticed that my necklaces look different like one looks shiney gold and the other is like a copper looking color. Doesnât even match my charm. I went to the jewelry stand right in front of the little rides for little kids (you put a quarter or two in and it moves). Something isnât right with that gold I have my receipt but it say no refunds or exchanges and I see why because I was ripped off! I will from now on buy from the stand I normally buy from never had a problem until I went to this stand! Or Iâll just go to pawn shops itâs a lot more better knowing your item is real gold. Very disappointed as now I have to buy my daughter another necklace so Iâm coming out of more money that I donât have. It sucks!! And Iâm highly irritated and pissed! Iâll add pictures when I get back home from work! I will also go to a pawn shop and see what they say as well.. if itâs real or not? Why it...
