We first showed up and she wasn’t there. No big deal, we called her. She told us we can set up camp. There was a cute dog running around, he matters to the story later. After we set up the tent, she arrived. She then told us the price was double what was stated online because we have access the bathroom and WiFi. It didn’t make any sense, but keep reading. We kick our slides off in front of our tent and went to bed.||||BTW, we’re in the middle of no where.||||The next morning my girlfriend’s shoes were missing from outside our tent. My shoes on the other hand were undisturbed. I told the owner that my girlfriends slides were missing. Before I finished my statement, She blamed the dog and told me to look around. My salesman brain knew that her response was scripted. I asked how the dog knew to grab the matching slides. The literal second I finish my question, she said “it happens”. ||||We look around, no slides were found. We talk loudly about getting our money back. A few minutes later she found them on the porch. She gave them back to us inside of each other (like in the picture). She said “you’re lucky there aren’t bite marks in them”. We responded “thanks”. She said we should’ve been careful because the dog takes shoes all the time. We asked why she didn’t warn us. She told us it was a new dog, but the dog is in photos posted here well before we stayed there. She asked if we’re upset, we said no. Then, out of no where, she said “Well I didn’t steal them!” We never never out loud accused her of taking them. ||||DON’T STAY HERE: Unless you want a highly intelligent dog that can read shoe sizes to take your shoes and put them nicely with the owners belongings. But if you ask me, the dog isn’t that smart because he has four paws. So why didn’t he take both...
Read moreIt's more like a Bed and that's it! Stayed here with my wife a few weeks ago and totally regret it! ||First, the website says, "Cabin $100 a night" under a photo of a cabin. What a deal we thought for being so close to Monument Valley. Nope! We stayed in a tiny bedroom on a full size bed, INSIDE THE OWNER'S HOUSE. Turns out the cabin in undergoing "repairs". Would have been nice to know this when I called ahead a few hours earlier and made a reservation.||Fine, we thought it was better than car camping and decided to stay after the owner sways us with the promise of breakfast. So the owner tells us she "serves breakfast at 7 am (as she's chopping veggies in preparation for the morning). Nice, breakfast will make up for the lack of cabin we thought. Nope! We wake up at 5:30am and pack up as we eagerly await a much needed breakfast. The smell of eggs, bacon, and coffee begin to fill the air. The owner walks past with a plate of food (presumably for her mother that was staying in one of the rooms) then turns to my wife and says, "feel free to crack an egg or two". Wait, what? Make yourself? An egg or two? That's not what what was explained to us. We were not made to feel welcome or that we even had access to anything outside of the bathroom and room. WiFi is there but doesn't work. ||To summarize: no cabin, no breakfast, and no wifi, and no communication. Bamboozlement is all ya get for $100 smakeroos! Would rather have saved our cash and just car camped for those accommodations. Such a regretful experience....
Read moreThis was truly the Perfect place to stay. The View! And the close access to the Monument Valley Loop drive! My goal was to find a small local place to support on my trip through. This isn’t some big time camp ground but it has everything you need for a fantastic price. There is one cabin you can book over the phone and a few places to set up camp along the fence. Trust The Signs!! My friend and I that stayed here are very laid back and constantly conscious about doing something incorrectly, so we were a little worried about setting up in the wrong spot. They are great hosts so definitely don’t worry about it. I set up a tent on the other side of the little fence and my friend slept in the car. The tan house that is just a few steps from the camping spot and about 20 feet from the cabin is where the bathroom is located for all guests. There’s a little jewelry shop set up in there as well. Our price for the night was $20, a shower is $5 a person and breakfast is $5 a person. You can not beat that price at any other campground (with no included...
