Wonderful facility all around. So many fun, family activities to choose from, beautiful views (especially sunsets!), scenic trails, and more. As I'm sure you've seen, it has the highest point in the state and it may not seem like a lot, but once you check out the view, you'll be blown away it's actually a view from Alabama. Facilities are clean, cozy, dated, but in my opinion, in the best of ways. Very nostalgic! The welcome center up front has a very friendly staff, along with a great selection of snacks, drinks, camping items, as well as great park tchotchke items. Best of all, everything is REALLY reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back and make many more wonderful experiences! Even if you're looking for corporate events, weddings, etc., they can make it happen with their lodge. Only potential "downside" to some is the spotty cell reception if you're not on T-Mobile, but who doesn't mind getting away and truly escaping in nature?! Read moreWe just got home from our 4th trip to Cheaha. We rented bluff view cabins (1 & 3) for this weekend’s family trip - have also rented the chalets and other cabin #’s in the past - our fam prefers renting multiple cabins than staying in the chalets but both are great. Cabin 1 is by far our favorite. I normally don’t leave reviews but felt compelled after reading some of the feedback others have left. Thinking about booking a trip? Do it! But keep your expectations realistic - these cabins and facilities are not new - that’s what makes them so special! Are some things worn out? Yes. Are there bugs, water issues and dirt? Yes. Is there anywhere else around where you can sleep in a hand built nearly 100 year old stone cabin with million dollar views? No! The staff cares about the park and wants you to have a great experience - they work hard for you - but most importantly they are there to preserve this jewel of place. Our family loves Cheaha - have never had a bad trip. We hope you book a stay and have fun exploring everything the highest point in Alabama...
