We chose this hotel because the price was reasonable, and your first pet stays free (we only have 1).
It's definitely a lower-budget hotel than we're used to. The lobby and the room appeared clean, however, there are drawbacks to paying a lower price: small room with sparser, cheaper, and smaller furnishings than higher-priced hotels, poorly repaired paint separation all around the top edge of the tub/shower, child-size bath towels (and only 2 stocked), very small tub/shower. One small chair and small table in the room, leaving little space off the floor to place our belongings and suitcases. Quite a large space between the bottom of the door and the floor, allowing significant light to enter under the door. Very poorly insulated, so outside noises were easily heard, as was the bathroom fan easily heard through the wall, even though the door was closed. This morning, we saw one cockroach on the floor, but it wasn't fast enough to evade getting smashed on the floor.
This morning, also, when I used the stairs, I noticed the stairwell smelled musty/moldy, which is interesting because this morning, shortly after taking my usual 3 morning meds, I felt sick and had to throw up. I'm very active and healthy, and the only reason we could figure that I got sick is because of mold, even though it wasn't visible in our room. We checked out 45 min. ago, but my husband and I both still feel queasy, though he didn't throw up.
The staff were friendly, the hotel appears clean except for the one cockroach, but something caused me to get nauseous this morning, and after reading all the reviews mentioning mold plus the very off smell in the stairwell, I'm led to believe the hotel has a significant mold issue. Hopefully, they can do something about it (and the roaches) because, otherwise, the room really was acceptable for a one-night stay on a...
Read moreI do NOT recommend this location. A friend of mine asked me for a recommendation for hotels. I have always loved the Red Roof brand and been extremely loyal to them so of course I recommend my friend book with them. As a result, she has stayed there multiple times and had planned to stay multiple more. HOWEVER, she needed to cancel her reservation for the weekend. She cancelled weeks in advance. She was in vehicle with us. I heard the employee state her reservation had been fully cancelled and she would not be charged. However, this weekend she was charged. Thinking some error had occurred she contacted them and tried to professionally and peacefully work it out. She discovered they had charged her on purpose and refused to refund anything. So, I called and asked what documentation she could provide to prove she had canceled this. I offered a variety of options which also included a request of them reviewing documentation on their end of phone and camera. They wouldn’t accept call logs, written/hard copy proof of cancellation, or if necessary statements from those in the vehicle. They called me back and instructed me to “do what whatever I have to do because no one is getting any money back.” Not only is this unprofessional but it’s unethical. I would never again trust them with my credit card information nor will I ever encourage any of my friends. I am also going cancel any further business related stays as is my family going forward. I am horrified that such dishonesty exists today. It’s not about the money. It’s about the employee who didn’t follow proper protocol in cancelations and also the manager being confrontational and unprofessional. Honestly, never again will I recommend or stay at a Red Roof Inn. Their actions have seriously damaged their brand image in my eyes...
Read moreTHE WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD!!!!! First, walked in and upon entry the entry smells like mildew and not like "oh! Some mildew" like am I going to die from this kinda smell? We decided to continue to our room and when you walk in you get hit with the smell of dirt and mold. Mold was everywhere. Ceilings? Mold. Walls? Mold. Baseboards? Coming off the wall from mold determination. Also water expansion. The floors were gross and not at least swept. When I looked at the bottom of my socks their was dirt and crumbs and brown from them. The shower is moldy and the door looked like it was tearing up and dirty. Huge brown stains on toilet side of door. If you look up at the light the paint is peeling away from the light and has mold seeping from the cracks in the paint. The fan wasn't recognizable with the mold and clogged with dust. My husband went to take a cold shower, went to use a towel and after drying himself off noticed the dirt and black hair from the "clean" towel on him. He looked at the other towels by the sink and all of them had yellow staining and were disgusting. Pool was okay not great but clean enough. That night a water main broke so they didn't have breakfast, I can't even explain to you how uncomftrable the bed was. My husband and I went to bed that night on the toughest mattress and smallest thinnest pillows with a blanket that barely fit the bed. We payed for 2 nights and only stayed 1 because it was so bad. The customer service was okay, they were nice enough but didn't seem to care about the issues at all. We both felt incredibly sick and had hives from sleeping there, im pregnant so we left immediately. We asked the locals after needing to find a new place to stay and they all said this red roof location is the worst...
