The stay itself was fine - clean, cute, nice location, economical, private. The mattress seemed a little dated or cheap.
When checking in, my credit card number was written down on a paper form in case of incidental damages. Taking a credit card number for incidentals is a standard practice with hotel stays, but most hotels will put the card number into a computer system.
11 days after my stay I received a bank alert that a charge was denied on that card "for $154.98 on 07/20/2024 at CITY SPORTS CLUB ALMAD, SAN JOSE, California."
I did not enter California at any point during this trip, nor have I been to California within the last decade. During the trip, the card was used for... Incidentals at a Holiday Inn Express (IIRC put into a computer system, not written down) Incidentals at Raines Resort Cabins Fuel purchases at 26 gas stations (4,500 mile trip)

We enjoyed watching the seals and all the ducks and enjoyed fishing as well (although I guess we were a couple weeks early for the salmon). A short distance to the nicest uncrowded beach where we enjoyed walking a couple times with our dog. We even saw a huge bald eagle perched on driftwood on the beach! Hong was the icing on the cake, he welcomed us so warmly and told us where to get the best chowder and all kinds of other helpful information. He was a delightful host and we felt so cared for the whole time we were there. Can’t...

We got in later than we anticipated, but the host stayed late to welcome us, give us restaurant advice, and was just a super nice guy. The apples and blackberries were ripe (early September) and the tent sites were nice and flat. The whole campground is very cozy, but the tent sites are plenty spacious. The bathrooms were close by and clean, but not fancy. We went out early on a dory fishing trip the next morning. It was less than 10 minutes to leisurely drip to the launch beach. All in all, it was exactly what we were...
