Today I called Priceline to book a HOTEL room with a TV and TWO BEDS. Instead I was given a room at The Landing Hub. My experience was unpleasant.
The landing hub is a Hostel, not a Hotel. It has no front desk nor does it have a discernable Front Door! Its the first time ive ever had an overnight stay where I had to call the facility for instructions on how to get inside.
The bathrooms in the rooms have no showers and my room had no TV. The TV was in a common area apparently to be shared by the guests. Bring a robe, or anything else you need for the shower. You will be walking thru the common area to get back to your room. The very small fridge sits directly on the floor. The floor is bare cement (pet friendly). The rooms have a desk and desk chair. No sofas, no recliners, no padded carpet and no 2nd bed. I did not stay long enough to find out if all the people on the first floor who were drinking planned on making lots of noise at night. This room was not what I was expecting to be sure but still it was clean, tidy and tasteful.
I spent an hour trying to sort things out with Priceline who ive determined has the worst customer service on the planet. I kept getting dropped calls. They kept trying to deal with it by calling Jenn apparently. I told Priceline the problem was not with the Hostel. It is with Priceline. When i got no where with Priceline I called the hostel/hotel. Jenn answered and immediately went off on me. She barely let me speak a word before hanging up on me. Had she let me speak she would have heard me say I am not critical of the facility. It is great for what it is but it is not what I asked for or needed. I realized they would not likely have cots. I really just wanted to know if there were any penalties for cancelling. She just went off though. She said shes had 100 people stay in that room and im the only one to complain. She wouldnt hear me out long enough tonsay my complaint was not with her or the hostel. It is with Priceline in whom i was getting no where with. At any rate, she hung up on me as she was midsentence in her fit. Within 5 minutes of her hanging up on me a guy who identified himself as Jenns partner called me. He wasnt a whole lot better.
Bottom line is under different circumstances this place would be fine. I described very specifically what I needed in a room on this day. Priceline failed miserably. And when I sought the help of whoever Jenn and her partner is I was given a verbal smackdown. Jenn was anything but professional right from the get go. And her partner wasnt much better.
Communication is key. There were communication breakdowns on every level here starting with the name of the facility. The name should say what it is. Hotel, Motel or Hostel. This facility is at best a hostel if not a boarding school dorm...
