This is an inspired and inspiring place, full of charm and craftsmanship, meant to generate endless conversation; like all the best businesses, it's an ongoing project, and from a grassroots origin. And while the owner and barkeep (Jason and Josh, a father-son duo, respectively) love to discuss the business, they also really want to hear your stories!
They are particularly engaged and eager in learning about tending to the community of Pacific; they have plans to broaden their business to expand outside, stretching the entertainment space into the two empty lots adjacent to the building (a centenarian craftsman house they rehabbed themselves, as Jason is a contractor). It's inspiring to see them light up while describing how they want to serve the greater community of Pacific, providing citizens with sources of engagement and imbibement that are truly worth patronizing.
There are also continuous plans for supporting local organizations, such as charitable fundraising chapters, as well as social groups, by offering their space as hosts for patrons to gather as members. There was talk of a sourdough bread bunch, perhaps music in the expansive lot, and Jason (the owner) is VERY excited to make the back yard a patio oasis worthy of earning the inevitable mosquito bites gotten from sitting outside for hours while immersed in great conversations over a couple bottles of red (and never wanting to leave!). These guys have a true vision!
As a Pacific resident myself, I believe we need an authentic place like this, one with a relaxed and personal vibe, to sit, sip, and socialize, while altogether avoiding "the bar scene." In truth, we don't need Total Wine, when we have access to the same bottles locally, giving us an easy reason to stimulate our small-town economy! We need these small, local businesses to enrich our lives, and to enhance the culture within our town. And Jason and Josh, at Winehouse 66 (named after Osage Rd's former designation, "Old 66") would love to meet you! You should stop by sometime! Maybe you'll even run into me!
Came here last night when searching for a wine bar near Eureka. This one popped up and wife wanted to check it out because she craved wine. Went here and arrived to a calm relaxing atmosphere (accept for the drunk book clubbers). The seats were comfy and they have a chess board and is just an all around tranquil atmosphere to unwind. The owner Jason and Natalie (Natalia) engaged us in some very intriguing conversation the entire time, as well as the bar help Josh. We had a very fun time and decided weād be back at least one more time before moving. Glad my wife didnāt find this spot sooner or sheād be there every week. The remodeled historic home serves as a very picturesque spot for a wine bar. Highly recommend with a nice selection of wines and local beer! Andā¦.this is the nicest bathroom Iāve...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePaid $53 for $20 bottle of Portlandia Cab. More than 100% mark up is ridiculous. I will not go back... further to this, I went back to the Winehouse and admitted to this review and the owner explained small business and ability to purchase wines at lower prices. I shared a wine flight and discussed with him and now understand more. The place is actually really delightful and I will go back and encourage others to...
