Pahokee Marina — Hotel in Pahokee

The RV Park has some great potential. Unfortunately it appears the city currently owns and operates the RV park and running RV parks is not among their specialties. We've been here a few weeks and are supposed to be staying 3 months. It's going to be a long 3 months! Very nice pool however the heater broke and they haven't replaced it and it doesn't appear they intend to. If that alone didn't make it useless, they have now blocked off the parking lot so you can't drive up to the pool. There is one bathroom that is not usable and from reading reviews it looks like it hasn't been for over a year. They once had what appears to be a very nice restaurant and Tiki bar, both are now collecting dust. Half of the sites are not used, assume the utilities are not functional? That was disappointing as we have friends that want to stay here with us however we are told there are no sites available and the city won't open the remaining sites. The monthly fees are low however with no working amenities it 's not really a bargain either. From reading the reviews the RV Park has been in a slow decline. Place is beautiful if you can get in. Made reservation and informed we would be arriving after 9pm. Was given instructions to call and it would be fine. Arrived at 9:12 pm all of our multi phone calls were unanswered. Stayed in a parking lot nearby with hopes of checking in the following morning. Was greeted with lies and attitude from the same woman the reservation was made with several days prior. I understand things happen. When you start with you don’t have a reservation, move on to you didn’t call and follow up with it’s your fault. I am at a loss. My reservation was sitting in the middle of your desk, I showed you the call log and you still struggled with being a genuine person and continued with your combative unpleasantness. Disappointed. This marina only allows you to live aboard 6 months out of the year.In Florida. Which is one reason why its empty. Great sunset from the boat.It has potential to bring in major income for the poorest city in Florida yet mismanaged by the city by local politicians that people keep voting in.. This marina was $24 mil new and a gem. Now in disrepair. A dock in the water, pool and restaurant closed. Thatch roof over outside closed bar falling off. Campground is nice. All spots lakefront with clean bathrooms. Gators easily seen.
