Pahokee Beach RV Resort — Local services in Pahokee

LOOK FOR THE PAHOKEE MARINA CAMPGROUND, because this place is not recommended at all and the other resort is literally right behind this one. Not to mention it’s cheaper than I paid.. Since I got here I was told I’m getting into the bigger lots and paid $950 for all included through Zelle to the manager Tim, which made me uneasy since I was terrified I would loose my money.. very informal. The day I got here the onsite manager Carol came and told us we had too many trees.. then she asked over three times how many children we had… on different days.. IF Tim asked while making reservation (which I do not recall) we had 2 living with us then I gave birth to my son while living here… and I have a step son that sees us once a month but that’s none of their business is it? Well Carol told us that she felt she couldn’t trust us even though I willingly explained that to her then she told us to tell the neighbors we only have two kids because no one likes children see the irony in that? [I don’t like cats and they roam around the sites like flies while Carol goes to Walmart to feed them all but who am I to judge?] I left my RV here the day I moved in and went back to the city where I was expected to give birth I asked how late I could come because I can’t drive and was informed if we got here after 5PM we would be charged $65 even though I explained I was pregnant and had to wait for relatives to be available for the move, they have no empathy for people and their living situations. That same week my husband came back even though I was due any minute to find our site with no power, had to throw away all the food and how ironic the power outage blew my inverter. I have a 2021 Ford Thor, bought it brand new. The box is not grounded properly and the electrician said it’s not needed but I know it is because the electrician opened the box in front of me and Im a quoter for an electrical company.. Never had this happen before.. Ever. I was only here a month and Carol came to my site trespassing and smoking a cigarette numerous times while my children were playing outdoors which made me very uncomfortable. Four days before I’m supposed to leave I get a call from Tim stating that if I knew I’m supposed to leave the day before I was expecting to leave because they apparently run their campground like a hotel or apartment rental and are expecting people on our site that day even though it’s not stipulated on the contract and I asked what would happen if I left at 11am the day I expected to like every campground and Tim said they would charge me $65 but it was not an option for us so I told him he owes me $65 because it’s not stipulated and they are kicking me out the day before.. Then Carol comes to tell us we have to pay meter and it calculated at $3000 but it was because of what happened in the beginning of the month so she was gonna charge us $50 but I was told everything was included. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had in a RESORT where service should be considered and I’ve stayed at over 5 Resorts in the last three years. This is literally a down low senior citizen community with very run down RVs and poor quality people. The ONLY part I loved was going to the library which was 3minutes walking distance and met a lot of nice families there from the local...

Most of these pictures are from the marina and Campground which is right on Lake Okeechobee, it's a state park. Great view! The owner of this park LIES on the phone and tells people there's a pool and pretends to be the marina ABOVE. Pahokee so-called Beach "LAST RESORT" is located BELOW the dike. If you're smart you will rent a space at the Marina for the same money and avoid all the DRAMA at this place. A year-and-a-half ago, when I came to rent long-term at this establishment, there were exactly FOUR AMENITIES. Today there is only ONE amenity and that is the gate, when it works. He charges $45 for WATER but NEVER tells you about that until you arrive. He also charges $6 a month for the gate opener but doesn't Supply battery. And if you lose it, it's $25. It is poorly run with an owner that never keeps his word. (CHANGES MIND WEEKLY) And if you expect to get a DEPOSIT back.. DON'T! He NEVER gives back DEPOSITS ever! All of his rental units are OVERRUN with MOLD except for the park model. In fact, one of his units has WATER POURING in the low window everytime it rains and there is VISIBLE MOLD and he REFUSES TO FIX it, expecting the tenant to do it for FREE. (Slumlord) And DO NOT expect to USE the bathrooms, the toilets have the original toilet seat and he REFUSES to upgrade anything, but complains about his water bill, which would be one third of the price if he would just spend a couple hundred dollars on new low flush toilets and seats. And if your unit has a plumbing problem, he will LOCK the bathroom DOORS. Unless you pay him an ADDITIONAL $25 per person for the privilege of using his showers. If you need to use the bathroom while doing laundry, there will be NO toilet paper and NO soap or paper towels. Says he runs it as a hotel/motel, but the fact is he DOES NOT have an RV LICENCE and his fire extinguisher/ fire inspection is 2 years OUT OF DATE. The lawn service he has is the WORST I have ever witnessed, they actually sprayed Roundup on my Cadillac, RUINING my clear coat, they also sprayed my herbs and other plants KILLING them. And they blow grass all over your trailer and your pad and they do not blow it off. He has inexperienced people trying to run it, (CHEAP) but all they're managing to do is to run it into the ground. He BROKE our LEASE without giving us back our $400 deposit. He said that I would never find anything as cheap as his place lol.. well he was wrong about that too. Turns out it was an absolute BLESSING because I found a wonderful place on the rim Canal where I can FISH right out my front door for $300 a month WITH WATER &ELECTRIC INCLUDED! EVERYONE is wonderful here, VERY helpful and pleasant, unlike the gossiping, lying people who report back to Tim. He never asks YOU a question he just throws accusations at you. ASSUMING that his helper is telling the truth, which she ISN'T!!! Do yourself a favor and don't walk, but RUN from this place as...

AVOID!!

Most of the campers in this park are dilapidated and in various states of disrepair. Poorly maintained electrical boxes, had an electrical box go out on us the first day and wasn’t fixed until a full day later causing us to find a hotel for the night due to no AC and also caused all the food in the fridge to spoil, There is also issues with the water supply and has a slight yellow tinge to it which I suspect is either from the many irrigation canals in the area or bad well water quality, as another reviewer mentioned the owner will not return your deposit, if you choose to do long term they will give you a receipt only and do not give you a lease with predefined terms which essentially allows them to make up whatever terms they want as they go.

The location is in a bad area, but to be fair all of Pahokee is a bad area, we only chose this because we had no other option at the time as all the other parks in the area were full. Pahokee in general has got to be one of the most run down cities in Florida and has more run down buildings than not. If you’re looking for an RV park near lake Okeechobee I would suggest checking out the Clewiston area as it’s a little bit better of an area...
