Shadow Ridge — Hotel in Palm Desert

We have stayed here a few times. We usually have a two bedrooms villa/ apartment on the top floor. This time, we got that, but there was a terrible rumbling noise and a constant dripping sound. I phoned reception at 1 in the morning asking why we could hear this noise. The chap wasn't that bothered. I asked him if there was anything on the roof that could be causing this sound, and he said, "No." I phoned at 2am, got a different person, who offered a maintenance person to come in the morning. The maintenance chap came, lovely chap. He informed me that the rumbling sound was the air conditioning units and pipes on the roof. The dripping sound totally baffled him, and he suggested that we move units. He called the reception, who then called us. We were offered an unit, but he wouldn't tell us which specific unit, just the building. We had a walk to the building and decided we would like somewhere else. I called Austin to ask if there were any other units available. He informed us of a different building, and we liked the position of this building, so we informed Austin that we would like to look at this unit, he told us to go to the front desk and get a key to take a look. When I got to the front desk, the chap didn't seem to know what I was talking about and asked me if I knew the unit number. I told him I didn't and asked him if he did? After looking at the computer, he gave me a key to take a look at that unit. We looked at the unit and decided to take it. We told Austin that we would take the unit, and he said he'd send someone to help us move. We ended up moving ourselves as no one came. I informed the front desk to cancel the help as we'd moved ourselves. The grounds are immaculate, lovely flowers and golf course. The property is clean and well maintained, the gentleman at registration was very helpful and kind. The room was outdated and not clean. When we first arrived I could see something sticky on tile floor. I decided to wipe it off, needles to say that turned into me cleaning entire floor on my hands and knees because the small area I wiped left towel completely black with dirt and filth. We stayed for five days and the one time we requested for housecleaning to come in the only thing they did was give clean towels (that looked like they had taken off the floor) they did not wipe down bathroom, make bed or vacuum floors. On our last night they set my husband and email asking us to take out trash, strip bed and remove towels. What did we pay 500.00 a night for? Definitely not top rate service! Will not be staying...

This is a great place to stay. They have a lot of pools and a lot of different activities you can also play golf if you want. They have a clubhouse that you can do yoga and the kids can play lots of activities. There is a shuttle bus to take you between places because it is a very big property. The rooms are very spacious and very nice you pretty much get a great view no matter where you're at. If you are a walker you can get a good 4-mile walk inside the property.
