I love this campground. It's a beautiful small campground nestled in the trees in the canyon. It has 22 sites....several first come first serve and then there are reserved spaces. I don't recommend long trailers. One man had a lot of trouble parking his 20 footer. The parking spaces are not really designed for that. It's geared towards tent camping. The bathrooms have a vault toilet in them. Currently there is no water available in Fern Basin Campground due to issues with the tanks. However, water is available at Marion Mountain Campground just up from Fern Basin. I really love staying here. I had no cell signal with Metro and another lady had T-Mobile and no signal. Her friend had one with Verizon. Please enjoy the beauty of the campground and help by picking up your trash and putting it in the dumpster provided. At $10 a night, you can't beat it. Very relaxing...
Read moreGreat camping spot! We enjoyed camping there. Pros: beautiful area, hiking nearby, mostly quiet (of course this completely depends on your camping neighbors at the time of your visit but it's a pretty small campground), bathroom, waste and water facilities. Good size camp spots. Cons: Prepare for bugs. So many bugs. In the summer, it gets very hot. Dusty (I mean, you're camping after all... but I mention it in case you're used to beachside camping. This campground has that fine, dusty dirt and it gets everywhere ;) Recommendation: use the website to check out the camping spots. Some are near the bathroom (which some people like and some people don't), others more 'remote' (not really the right word for this campground), some bigger, some take cars, etc. There's a lot of information on the website or even just Google Earth that can help you pick...
Read moreNice looking campground but no rangers or campground host(s) means extremely obnoxious, vulgar and loud partyers kept the majority of the campers there up past 3am. Seriously, nobody to contact in case of an issue! Also counted 7 dogs off-leash, running through campsites unaccompanied and barking/growling at guests. Campground says leashes are required at all times and quiet hours are 10pm-6am but nobody regulates it so don't plan on a full nights sleep if you stay here. Poor experience!!! Definitely would not recommend this to families even in a pinch. Choose elsewhere unless you don't care about aggressive dogs...
