Ok, so here is the lowdown both good and not as good about this campground from a TENT camping experience over the Memorial Day weekend. First, this staff is amazing! They are so friendly, helpful, and go out of the way quite frequently to make your camping experience the best it possibly can be! They brought firewood and ice right down to us (charged to our site) upon request and within literally minutes of asking! Our first night I was having some issues with my camp stove and even though it was a few minutes after last call for concessions they still let me order a couple of pizzas and dinner was saved! The campground had many activities for kids even though we didn’t do everything it was nice to have options for entertaining them. The restrooms/showers were clean but far from the tent area making for a long walk to use them. The pool was good but FREEZING! It took a little longer than usual to get used to the temp to actually swim but I think it was because it’s early season and the sun just hadn’t done it’s job quite yet! Overall this campground is great but there were 2 things which did ding it a little bit for us. One, the Deluxe tent area had electric, 2 grounded outlets, BUT there was no dedicated water supply. There’s only 1 water spigot for the whole tent area and that was slightly inconvenient. The other issue we had was really nothing they could solve but it still was there and that was the incredibly LOUD motorcycles/ATV’s and no muffler pickup trucks racing up and down the road directly behind the camp at all hours of the day and late into the night. I’m not exaggerating, it was all the time and obnoxiously loud. So if quiet is your thing this probably isn’t the spot for you. Otherwise it’s great and we did enjoy the weekend very much and will definitely do it again next time Land Between The Lakes...

“Great for family weekend. Not great for an overnight.”

We stopped here on our way home on Night 12 of a 13 night trip to Florida. The campground is more suited for families looking for a fun weekend. Plenty of amenities for the kids and family: Playground, Gaga Pit, Horse Shoes, Gem Mining, Minigolf, camp fires, etc. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful when on site. Internet is awesome

The Cons: the old portion of the campground (Pull through sites without patio) is very unlevel and tight. Sewer connection had to go uphill, even with supports. Rules say quiet hours are 10p-8a. While it was a Saturday and I understand people want to have a good time, there were a few groups chatting and laughing around the campfire after 10p. We ran the AC Fan to drown out the noise so we could sleep after a long day on the road. Another rule is no ATV riding on the grounds: at about 9 PM there was a ATV riding around the grounds for about 10 minutes.

For the price ($60 without any discount) there are plenty of RV parks out there that are cheaper and would provide a better experience for someone traveling through. While it was long enough, I would think the site we stayed on as a value of $30-40, not $60. We were not able to extend our awning due to a tree. The campground would benefit from someone onsite until 11 pm enforcing rules as written in the publications, especially on the weekends. The campground would also benefit from upgrading/expanding the older portion of the campground to level out the sites. (I understand that is the goal while reading past reviews)

Overall, it was on OK stay. As stated, I paid cheaper on our trip and we had much better sites (Full concrete, level, quiet) than we experienced here. We camped at Paris Landing / Kentucky Lake KOA Holiday in a...

We stayed there Memorial Day weekend 2018. The campsites are terribly small, narrow, uneven and totally unenjoyable. Your neighbors sewer hookup is under your picnic table. It’s near impossible to have a campfire. There are no grills for cooking out. Your other neighbors awning is mere inches from your camper. They charge 5$ for a guest to arrive at a site that we have already paid for. Our son came to take us out for dinner and “Shannon” the owner insisted on a 5$ Cash fee for him to come on the property to take us for dinner. We had our cousins come to join us for dinner the next night (not using any camp facilities) and they were charged 5$ cash also. This campground has rules that you must provide vaccination papers for the smallest of dogs. They “rule” you to death at this campground and their employees are reminiscent of Barney Fife. You spend more time worrying you will break a campground rule then you do enjoying your stay. Upon check in they insist on escorting you to your campsite and then they argue with you as to where you can place your camper on your site. Because the site is so small it’s extremely difficult to open awning and slide outs due to trees. The “escort” told us we “didn’t need to use our awning”. He argued with us about what 36” of space was. The whole weekend was like this. Totally unenjoyable and a total waste of money. Every other camper we spoke with had the same or similar problems and each one said they wouldn’t return again. We are very sorry we stayed there. Never again will we patronize them. ...

This is our favorite KOA and we’ve been to many in 11 states. We travel 8 hours from northern IL to meet up with daughter’s family and grandsons. The grounds are kept very clean and nicely landscaped. Plenty of shade to find if wanted. Most sites have shade trees. We always stay in the rustic cabins which aren’t so rustic really, lol. Nice ceiling fan, a/c, cute curtains, and mini fridge! And cable tv if you ever have time to watch it. Each cabin has its own added on deck area with picnic table, then an area off to side with fire pit and benches. So much room. Even grass area where we can play our own yard games. Pool is cleaned daily and is crystal clear. They must monitor chemicals regularly because I never noticed chlorine smell or eye irritation, bravo! There’s a large shaded pavilion next to pool where the bingo and trivia games are played. Hilarious and fun. Grandpa plays bingo while grandma is in pool with grandsons. Perfect. Concession stand also for lunch items and snacks and ice cream. The owners are strongly family oriented and it shows through the care and activities provided for campers. Most of the campers have families so the quiet time is easily enforced. Even over the past holiday weekend, all quiet after 10. I don’t want to say too much more because I want to have a space always available to us! But it’s only fair to give the praise that’s due. FANTASTIC. Funny, we were too busy with family doing family things to even take pictures! Except for this one of Trooper a tripod calling dibs on space with grandson.
