We stayed at the place 6 years ago. Our first time in this area. We arrived at this joint on first arrival it seemed nice that day staff was friendly. Chatted up a bit and retired for the night We settled in room was decent it was a short weekend stay Blennerhasett tour next day. I had mentioned it to front desk personnel.
Low and behold next morning we're in bed sleeping and awaken by someone entering with a key card! A fully grown adult man as he enters we go what the hell are you doing in our room!
He's apparently super surprised when he enters, oh sorry they told me this room was empty im the maintenance man.
Well they told you wrong! I called front desk and expressed our discomfort and anger and lack of feeling safe.
Front desk, oh that's just the maintenance guy he must've went to the wrong room. Must have?! Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll be calling corporate about this. Response didn't care. Shady man just looked stupid when we went to front desk to lodge a complaint.
Just sorry! We had slept in so they apparently thought we were out and not in our room. A little trifle through our luggage? Maybe maybe not. So Surprise to the maintenance man Not Today!
When we did leave we made sure to take our belongings with us!
Makes you wonder if they did that in everyone's room.
Will Never go there again. Advertised continental breakfast None Provided. Shady to say the least. We checked out and had a wonderful stay at Blennerhassett Hotel Top...
Read moreOnly reason someone would want to stay here would be if they were homeless, kids wanting to party, maybe running from a seriously bad situation, or needing somewhere to do shady activities. The issue with this place is if you show up late you cannot get someone to come to the window, I think it's over priced....has the same beds an decor it had when I was in high school lol and I am in my early 30s....the workers are decently nice though which is a plus...it is dirty, beds unmade occasionally and bathtubs have dirt ring in them. and the key cards never ever work an then you've gotta walk a country mile to get back to the office to get it programmed again and sometimes it take multiple tries and they get frusterated you keep coming back. Also if you have kids its sketchy due to the array of characters hanging around outside with hoods up lots of times with bicycles with large backpacks trying to catch wifi...ya know the typical parkerburgians bath tubs also never drain and athletes foot is inevitable so shower shoes are a must. But athletes foot is probably one of the smaller things you should worry about contracting due to the small some times microscopic blood spots on sheets, walls, occasionally ceilings, and most surfaces. 10 outta 10 do not reccomend to the usual traveler. Two stars given only due to the very nice professional desk lady Kenda...
Read moreThe office staff were all very professional and friendly. My visit was due to flooding of my home from the Ohio river. I wasn’t informed until the evening of 4-3 that I needed to evacuate now, as the River was over the bank and would continue flooding the area. I haven’t driven at night time in 6-7 years, so the drive over to the hotel was extremely stressful for me. The hotel allowed my late arrival. One thing I really appreciated, was the way they spaced the hotel guests. We weren’t on top of each other. I was able to park in front of my room which was great. The room was quiet. Only negative : The room—especially the carpeting, needs a really deep cleaning. On the positive side: I booked from Wednesday evening thru Saturday. After finding out the water was receding a day earlier than expected I checked out on Friday morning to get back home to see the damage. I had paid up front and the young lady wasn’t sure if I could get a refund for the day and a half I wouldn’t be there. After waiting less than a week, I was happy that the manager gave me a credit. I will stay at this Travel Lodge in Parkersburg, WV again, as I felt safe, the bed was comfortable, and...
