The motel was decent for a place to sleep and regroup. I was a little disappointed in the indoor pool. It was honestly pretty dirty, unkept and a LOT of bugs/spiderwebs. The pool area could benefit from some cleaning, updated seating and maybe a pest control visit. The pool, in my opinion, is actually a perfect size for families with children (5 years old+) staying for a weekend. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub as well. The room was very clean and it was nice having a fridge/microwave since there isn’t a lot of eating options open later than 9pm surrounding the motel. I will say the shower was pretty pathetic..the water pressure was a trickle and the temperature never reached even lukewarm. The A/C worked well but it was pretty old and very loud. Luckily we can sleep through a lot, our five year old never woke up from the noise. The television was nice with loads of channels (including Disney!) and clear reception. It would be nice to have access to login to our streaming services but the unexpected good/clear reception made up for that instantly! The room we stayed in was non-smoking and we have children so we were hoping that the section of the motel we were in was a non-smoking but the two mornings we came outside for a little bit there was a gentleman smoking outside his door right next to us which the smell ended up drafting into our room. They have a good place located a short distance away with outside tables and chairs that would have been perfect for smokers but it wasn’t very enforced; which we do understand it’s hard to be keeping tabs on that. Bring bottled water or go across the street and grab some at the market. I’m not personally a tap water person but I can tolerate it but the tap had a strong metallic taste. I do recommend if you are planning a trip to Bryce Canyon, know that it is about 1.5 hour drive from the motel to the visitor center. Overall I have this place three stars simply because of the clean rooms, very accommodating and kind staff and it was very nice having a small grocery store literally across the street. Keep in mind that Parowan is quite a small town but the motel did surpass my expectations in a good way. I will stay here again if we pass through...
Read moreI stayed here in 2017. I was back in the area so I stayed here again. From 2017 until now, I can say that this property has gone downhill.
In 2017 the rooms and property looked so much better than now. There used to be decorative pillows on the bed decorated with pictures of Bryce and Zion. The property was clean in 2017 and nicely decorated with tables and chairs. Now there is a trailer in the parking lot. Tables and chairs are just wherever. Cigarette butts all over the ground. There is a container of lighter fluid at the end of the hallway. It was there my whole stay. It just looks like they don't care anymore how the rooms and parking lot looks.
In my room, the safety latch on my door was missing. It broke or whatever and it looks like it's not a priority to fix it.
The floor squeaks when walking across the room. It looks like thin carpet on top of a wood floor. It squeaks just like walking on a floor in a 100 year old house.
When taking a shower, the temperature of the water will go from warm to scalding hot for about 1 second and then go back to warm. It kept doing this over and over. Not sure if this is happening because another room flushed the toilet. So take note of this if you have small children. This is a serious safety issue.
I arrived in the late afternoon to check in. It took forever because the front desk wasn't staffed. No one was there. Also there is no one at the front desk in the morning until 9am.
They used to offer a free breakfast. Now you just get 10% off at the restaurant on site.
I have included a screenshot of my review...
Read moreRegrettably! Very unpleasant stay and experience. We made a mistake booking here. Should've stayed with main stream hotels that we know. This is a Chinese hotel, run by Chinese people and it's different. I have nothing against Chinese or immigrants, but they tend to be rude and argumentative sometimes, and very unfriendly. The cook at their Bistro doesn't even speak English. Therefore, when I told the waitress how I wanted my eggs, she said she could not communicate that to the cook. The "cooked to order breakfast" is very limited to already pre prepared scrambled eggs. The sausage links were steamed Swift Brown and Serve. You get 1 slice toast bread with that. Coffee was weak. Not much choices for breakfast. We paid $118 for this one nite stay and it was a waste of money. Our room should have been $50. The room had no alarm clock. The phone was broke and did not work. I had to call the front desk with my cell phone. Very basic room with very low and short counter vanity and toilet. They're made for very short people. The counter is only about 24 inches high from the floor. The toilet about 18 inches. The pillows were horrible. I woke up with stiff neck and headache. On the positive side, the room was clean and the beds are okay. Nevertheless, we pass through this area a lot as we travel across the country several times every year, we will not stay here again. Would not...
