I called and spoke to a front desk person to explain that we were going to be in town for a wedding. I specifically asked about a late check out because the wedding was late afternoon. I was assured we could stay later and all we had to do was wake up and call down to the front desk to let them know. Perfect! I went online and no booked the reservation. Originally I thought we were going to bring our dog, so I booked a pet friendly room. I called the next morning to change that and have them take that off my reservation which they said they did. I let them know that we wouldn’t need a pet room but liked that style of room. When we arrived(after 5 hours in the car) I walked in to check in and I notice that I am being charged for animal and ask if we are still in an animal room. The front desk person refunded us the pet fee and said that we are still in a pet friendly room. I asked if we could switch rooms and he said they didnt have any but he would refund my money if I wanted. Um where would we go? We are 5 hours from home. We went up to our room and the first thing we notice is the size. It was much bigger than we thought which was great. We walked over to the couch and there was a big stain across the couch cushion and our son asked what it was from. Who knows. I thought we could just flip the cushion over but when I went to flip it, I saw that the design was only on the top. The more we
Moved around the room the more rundown we realized it was. Nothing like the picture showed. It said newly remodeled. Not so much. The couch had that lovely stain on it. The paint on the wall we scuffed-you could see the white paint underneath it, the carpet baseboard was coming off the wall, the mirror in the bathroom had the paint missing, the tv remote did not work, the shower curtain had a large rip in it, the shower gel was empty in the shower(staff didn’t refill it), the kuerig coffee machine was broken, and the beds were hard as rocks and super squeaky. We definitely left...
Read moreMy family and I were completing a PCS move from Joint Base-Lewis McChord, WA to Fort Campbell, KY. We had some issues on the road with our moving truck and were not able to make it to the first stop we had planned on our trip. We stopped in Pendleton, OR just for gas, but saw the Holiday Inn Express (we made all our reservations for this move at various Holiday Inn's across the country), and decided we would call it a night since it was getting late with the hopes they would have a room available without a reservation and one that could accommodate our family size and the fact that we were traveling with pets (2 cats). Luckily, for us, they could and did. The staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful offering us suggestions on where to get a decent meal nearby (FYI, show your room card at the Shari's across the street and you'll get a free slice of pie). The rooms were recently renovated and done so quite nicely; the room was very clean, cozy, and suited the size of my family just fine (myself, my wife, our three sons, and two cats).
We took advantage of the free breakfast the following morning. Everything was fresh, warm, (or cold accordingly); the breakfast area was well stocked, well maintained, and restocked by two pleasant and professional young ladies attending to that area. There was also a good variety of items to choose from compared to "free breakfasts" I've seen offered at other chains. Variety is important for my family considering my two younger sons are extremely picky eaters, there was something for everyone. The dining area was large, clean, and comfortable.
There was also a nice indoor heated pool and hot tub, as well as, an adequate fitness center; although, we did not have the chance to utilize those facilities due to our timeline. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay there again without hesitation, if I am ever in...
Read moreDated, not the cleanest. Location was the best feature, as its right off the freeway. 3 staff members present when I arrived, and appeared to be having technical issues with their card scanning machine, taking 2 people to struggle with it. As I checked in, alot of distraction, and not very friendly. I felt a if I was inconviencing them. I was asked to be sure to bring my card key back in the morning, because it was one that still worked and they needed it. When I arrived at the room, TV was on (blue screen), there were two remotes, and I couldn't get the TV to turn on/off. I had to call the front desk and have someone come up and turn it on for me. Staff member came in and immediately unplugged & switched around multiple cord's and devices that had been added to back of TV, finally getting it to turn on. I asked if I needed both remotes to run the TV, she said no. But, I did need both. (I could tell she had to deal with this issue before.) Both bath towels, hand towels and 2/3 of the washcloths were stained, as well as, the sheet. Microwave old, actually everything was very dated. Didn't even have USB plugs, which was ok because I brought my charger with the plug. I'm not an early riser, but I had a hard time sleeping. But I got up early today so I could eat my complimentary breakfast and get outta there. I've attatched pics showing how dirty & dated. Only half of the toasters worked, no cinnamon rolls (their specialty) for breakfast, dated phone, TV and other appliances, tops of all lamps dusty, (my pic not great), worn curtain, surface of desk damaged and oily, many attachments to TV and not easy to use, bunch of hair on floor of bathroom behind door (yuk), and liner to shower curtain was not attached. Apparently it was too much trouble. Would not recommend. A big let down for the price....
