In town for a family funeral. Only room available was a King. While the unit is plenty large and has a jacuzzi in the bedroom, the suite itself is totally lacking in charm or warmth. The furniture is early 2000's church garage sale, and is simply stuck along the sides of the walls, willy-nilly. It is clear that whoever "designed" the layout had no idea what they were doing. "Stark" comes to mind as an overall description. The bathroom, although large, is also lacking in any desirable amenities. The walls are barren, and where there once must have been shelving for towels and wash cloths above the toilet, there is a blank wall, with the holes badly plastered over. The shower is literally the size of a phone booth, has no place for soap or shampoo; there are no wall hooks outside the shower for your towel, nor grab bars on the walls. ||The water supply must be "hard water", as it was nearly impossible to wash off soap or shampoo residue from your skin. The shower floor was very slippery, and needs a "no skid mat". Be careful!! ||For some odd reason there is an attached fold-down chair in the shower, which further limits the already limited space. If it was added for " extracurricular" activities, that would be impossible, as it is already crowded with one person!||The breakfast was mediocre at best. Where one might have expected a bowl of fresh fruit, there was a quart sized container with cut up fruit that had obviously spent the previous night in a refrigerator. Unappetizing to say the least. The buffet was nothing to rave about: small containers of yoghurt; some small packaged muffins, pancake mix, and bagels, (but fresh hard boiled eggs!). For the price, ($200) we were expecting a hot breakfast with options. Not so!||A previous review mentioned the vista from the rear of the hotel. If vast expanses of athletic fields is your thing, look no further.||Positive notes? The bed was comfortable, the hotel was clean, the environment quiet. Nothing close by, the area is very rural. The towels were nice. ||Overall, we found if too expensive for what you get. There are no doubt better choices in the area, at...
Read moreWhen we arrived we were greeted with a awful smell as soon as we stepped out our car. Then the desk clerk was very hard to understand and super dismissive. He handed us a three page contract saying if we were loud we will be charged if we leave room a mess we charged if we up later we charged on and on...(for references I’m a 40 year old business woman with my 17 year old daughter).
When we made it to the room after being treated like potential criminals, the smell from outside was very much inside the room. The rooms looked like a mix of garage sale finds. The room was clean ! Points there. Pillows awful and only three per queen, shower pressure was none! A small bag for shampoo (think instant oatmeal bag). And one bar of soap. Yes TWO bathroom Amenities. We bring our own, but I’m painting a picture for you.
Moving on to breakfast..or lack there of. There were signs all over telling you what NOT to do. Dirty paper signs and I quote “ No Biscuit in toaster” Breakfast was waffles, old bread, a very small crockpot of sausage gravy and cold biscuits...(probably why people put in toaster)
Leaving for the day we were again greeted by that awful smell... the area is country and very beautiful but, farm life is all around including the source of the smell! Manure was the culprit, it was so strong it Seeped into the hotel.
So in a nut shell, rude front desk, old outdated uncomfortable room, breakfast almost non-Existent, and rude signs all over telling you what NOT to do, and let’s not forget the three page contract and verbal assault on everything you will be charged for!
We took pictures of the room after we left, super uncomfortable feeling of needing to prove it was...
