The cabins are nice. Cabins are generally clean. The windows were always smudged upon arrival, but I would just clean them up quickly. This past year we found a dirty pair of childrens underwear in the bunk room. The owner seemed to not want us to come anymore-became very unfriendly toward us. Tried to charge my sister for marks on the picnic table-which no one was aware of anyone putting on nail polish as the owner had accused us of. Also-after a child got sick on the mattress owner wanted to charge full price to replace mattress. There were no plastic covers or mattress protectors on the mattress. It seemed she just wanted us gone. Also seemed odd that the owner would make political posts on various websites under the business name. That was a turn off to me. Owner complained of having work to do because of staffing shortages. She also made requests that we clean the cabin before we leave-vacuum ect. We decided we will not be returning. Didnt feel we needed stress to go on vacation. We did enjoy it the previous years but will go somewhere else where we can be stress free. We also had a small child and the owner could not provide a high chair. Seems odd for a...
Read moreI've had the privilege of vacation here over twenty times in the last 40 years. There's nothing like it. This resort is family owned(2 generations). You won't find more accommodating people than the family that operates this resort.
There's never a lack of things to do regardless of weather. From the amazing beach and swimming area, to the rental canoes and kayaks there plenty to do on the water. If fishing is your thing you'll have an amazing fishery to explore.
This resort also has a large campfire area to entertain, a playground, and an arcade set in the building adjacent to the check in.
The cabins are extremely well kept and are always pristine upon your arrival. The larger cabins feature multiple bedrooms to accommodate large families and have an awesome kitchen, dining, and living area to meet the needs of large gatherings. They also feature grills and decks to enjoy the outdoors.
If the weather doesn't cooperate have no fear, Pequot Lakes, Nisswa, and Crosslake are all close by and have plenty of things to keep everyone busy. If you need to get your fix for something like Starbucks or need to hit Wal Mart then Brainerd is just a...
Read moreMy grandpa took our family here for a small family gathering each year growing up. After he passed we stopped coming. Now that I have a family, my parents started taking my family here each year as well as my brother. It's the best place for kids. The beach is great for swimming and it's tucked in on a no wake zone so it's really safe too. The area of the lake also has some nice places to canoe. I read another post about customer service that wasn't noted to be what the vacationer expected. We have had great service! It's a husband and wife that run the place and their two (fairly sure) kids assist - maybe 10-12 yrs old (in 2015). They are doing work all day but always make sure to greet us warmly and ask how we're doing. I respectfully disagree with the other post ( and was even a touch offended). Usually after 10, things are quiet. It's a family place that kids love and as a parent feels safe. A great place...
