My sister in law booked the Shenandoah lodge SOLELY based on her experience of the lodge when we stayed here in 2021. Immediately I was regretful of the decision she had made based on her previous experience. What was planned as a much needed family get together and time of relaxation was pure hell. Upon entry the place was not cleaned properly, doorknobs, and light switches were black, someone’s clothes left in the laundry area, there was gum stuck to the ground and on the steps. The pool area had previous swim shorts, socks and goggles and the toilet facilities had urine and the doorway was covered in cob webs. I am sad to report the oven did not operate properly back in 2021 and it has not been fixed. One side doesn’t work at all, and the other side doesn’t come to temperature. My poor nephews had to wait 4 hours for frozen lasagne, they pointed out the dust on the wall in the living room had some ones name scrawled in the dust. They thought it was funny but of course for us adults is was far from a laughing matter especially for all the money spent on this dump. Oh and the upstairs AC didn’t work so it was like a freaking sauna upstairs. Due to the uncomfortable and terrible conditions we were forced to leave at 1pm a day and a half early. Upon leaving we were contacted by Mt. Laurel chalets, we told them about our grievances. They did not immediately reply back, in fact they did not respond to our grievances until one day later and AFTER our check out time. Their response was that “they were sorry to hear about our grievance and they wished they would have known sooner so that they could have made our stay more enjoyable. “ Our previous positive experiences with this home seem like a distant memory. I suggest you look elsewhere and with another company who takes care and consideration with the upkeep of their properties. It is painfully obvious this company is just in it...
Read moreBeautiful spacious comfortable house with a great view of lake in a good location between Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge. Unfortunately it is stuck in the 80’s and could use a deep cleaning of the kitchen cabinetryand tightening of screws and replacing of at least a dozen burned out light bulbs. And for such an awesome appearing kitchen the knives and skillets were only if adequate quality detracting from the cooking experience. Not to mention despite following directions to turn on vent and open doors to vent before using the grill and no noticeable smoke the alarm went off and would not go off until maintenance came out to disconnect, an hour after dinner was finished. Security company came following day to replace faulty equipment, hopefully won’t happen again, but in brief conversation with the fireman who came promptly this has been a common occurrence...
