Not Sure how in the world good reviews are attached to this hotel. Been Here almost a year, No room cleaning for up to several months at a time, Difficult to get towels everyday. Never vacuum the stairs and up to a week before they do the hallways, sometimes debris will sit in the hall until I remove it a week later as if they do not even walk their own halls. Some of the front desk people are rude and insulting some are nice and professional. The management is selective as to whom he wants to treat fairly or nice, he is tricky and calculating. Complaining to corporate is a joke. On the other hand you get what you pay for --OR NOT. It is a lower standard hotel and it is run that way. Dingy and sometimes stained towels. I was taken back when I say a large roach all the way in my room on a wall, I am very clean so it was a surprise visitor. The more than $30K I spent at this location was certainly a waste. Many essential things are either broken, outdated or on it way out. Police show up here recently virtually several times a week for fights. The grounds are not kept clean regularly, although I saw they have a worker who cleans some things off the ground some mornings, this should be done throughout the day several times and the garbage room should be cleaned out several times a day. Sometimes the garbage overflows onto the floor and out out the room into the hall by the elevator. They do not want to hire the help they can use to correct these problems that is why the problems exist. If you stay for a night or a few nights you may not notice some of these issues. I decided to shampoo the carpet in the room because I do not trust that they clean good when pets stay in the rooms, the water from the carpet was super black, so I went over it several times and it kept coming out black but got lighter around the 4th time shampooing it. I have to clean the mold that sits under the seems in the tub and sink because they don't do it and I noticed a pinkish color spreading throughout the shower area that would not clean off and I learned it was a type of mold that had to be cleaned with only undiluted bleach and it is considered a dangerous mold. When you stay for a while and come in and out throughout the day or night you notice everything and after a while it is frustrating, a nuisance, ridiculous and incredible, especially since they are situated in a nice town. There is a lot of potential for this property and it could easily get reviews that are realistic and high after all I knew this property when it was the Sierra Suites years ago and it was almost luxury at that time, same property different owners and management. I don't feel that I am being harsh because after reading reviews that I know are either made up or some sort of incentive given to post a good review, it makes me queasy. My suggestions, complaints and good intent gets noticeably ignored. Reading most posts for this location is misleading.

Rutgers - Piscataway Extended Stay While inbetween homes. I decided to stay at the Extended stay. I rented 2 suites. I noticed that there was a group of spanish maintenance people always working on my floor as well as outside the hotel. 2 gentlemen and a woman. While they worked, the back door would stay open. Too much to keep opening and closing, i guess with no regards for the safety of the customers inside. I wondered immediately, Was this a safe practice? I filed that thought. They also stayed on the 2nd floor, probably in exchange or with credit for working.. I also stayed on the 2nd floor, right wing, the renovation wing. There seemed to be another 8 rooms, that during the daytime were also being worked on. My son rode over screws dropped on the floor outside and popped his tires. We told the manager. That request was filed. There would be constant drilling, banging, moving. I am only mad that i wasnt informed that i would be moving onto the renovation floor. My suite had a stuffed up bathroom sink with a rust and mold, yes I said mold, ring around the top. There were no light bulbs in 2 of the lamps. My daughters pull-out bed was so uncomfortable, she preferred to sleep on the floor. The shower bar was broken, so that when you stepped in to take a shower, you were also stepping on the curtain. The exhaust was broken. It made an excruciating noise. It could not be used. The cabinets were peeling, 2 of my burners stopped working. I am sure that my suite was next on the renovation list. I did get an inside maintenance guy to come in and fix 4 out of my 6 issues after 2 weeks. Then my kid's suite was broken into. There were two laptops in the room, an older macbook pro and a gaming asus laptop. They stole the gaming laptop. My son had previously told the manager that their door lock was broken, unbenounced to me, but still nothing was done. She came and personally investigated and saw that there was truly a problem with the lock. She told him that she would put in a claim. That was a month and a half ago. We are stil waiting to hear from the insurance company, Broadspire. They are saying that they are waiting for her to send out a claim. Cat and mouse show.I remember talking to the manager in the beginning of my stay. I noticed the trackmarks on her hand. I remember saying to myself, how nice to see someone bouncing back from a fall, because we all fall down at some time or another. Now I wonder was this hindsight or an early warning? I left owing 3 days on each suite. You be the judge. Are they owed any $ ??

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The place felt more like a shelter or rundown motel than a proper hotel. Our first room was absolutely disgusting — there were blood stains on the bed sheets, cockroaches in the bathroom, stains on the walls, and garbage in the hallway right outside the door. We went to the receptionist to ask for a new room, but he told us we had to wait for the manager. After almost an hour, the manager arrived and assured us we’d get a new room later that night, as we were heading out for the evening. When we returned, the night staff told us they had no instructions and refused to help. We were forced to sleep in that dirty room for two nights. The next day, we spoke with the manager again. He agreed to give us a refund for one night and switched us to a new room — but that room had a broken A/C and dirty sheets again. He said there were no other rooms available, so we had no choice but to stay in it. The following morning, I checked in with him again to make sure we’d receive our refund. He became defensive, raised his voice, then promised he’d process the refund as soon as Expedia gave him the money. That was a lie. When I contacted Expedia, they told me no one from the hotel had reached out to them at all. Two weeks later, Expedia confirmed the manager was still not responding to their calls. In addition to all that, we saw a drunk or high person near our room several times, and the hallways stayed dirty the entire time we were there. People had thrown garbage or belongings in the corridor. This hotel is extremely poorly managed, unsanitary, and unsafe. The staff is either careless or dishonest, and the place feels neglected and chaotic. I strongly advise you to stay somewhere else.

My family's visit here was for 3 days... that will be the last time even if it was free this place is not worth it. To be clear so it's not confusing I'm a man posting for myself and my wife using her account since we charged under her bank. First the check in was fine and the girl overnight was great so I want that clear. Our first room had little hairs all on the bed so we were given a different room, it was simple enough so everything was good. The parking is not terrible but it is tight to navigate the lot. The hall was covered in dry piss so that wasn't great. The trouble started on our 2nd day after ordering a delivery to the location as I went down to collect my items the manager who never identified himself before though he had seen us check in and walk around the building , the manger decided to yell to me that I owed him money. So I came with pets and it was on my check in information, I paid by credit card and all was said and done. The manger apparently found that a fee was missing from the charge for a pet. Though I did not know this to be true it could have been possible the other person removed a fee due to the room issue. So to the point, I had no idea who this man is and he is telling me I didn't pay him. He tells me he had seen me coming in and asked how much luggage I took in. I obviously got angry and yelled at the guy. I warned him of making trouble with someone he doesn't know especially by telling them he is following them. He took a moment and told me he is the property manager and while he was watching drug dealers and users on the property via the cctv he decided to monitor my family after checking in. I'm absolutely positive it's because I'm Muslim. The guy decided to ignore actual drugs all over the property just to check my bag count??? That's some bs. He tells me we came with a lot of luggage and I owed for a pet. I explained we paid upfront and had the receipt online. The guy has his district Mgr there with him and she waited a bit and watched us go back and forth. I told him I'd get the receipt when I came back own. I called and complained to the company's terrible customer service line and had to wait for the as they described it regional mgr to reach out. Though it is often the dm not the regional. So going back down the guy still insists we didn't pay him and he repeatedly reminds me he been watching us coming and going. So at that point the argument was not getting better but i am definitely angry he decided to monitor me and my family on the videos of the property rather than the drug dealers especially since we been there the cops were called about 5 times for someone coming into the building without permission but had an access card. so the dm who was there she decided to interject and tell me he was not doing anything but just checking on things. She tried to mediate and said they would look over everything together. That still didn't resolve why the manager was monitoring my family during our stay or that the guy felt like picking a fight with a stranger and yelling I owed him money. I am a manager and this is bs , any real company would not hire someone like this man. He dressed like a slob rinkled and in lounging style clothes, he has no sense of business or customer service and he has a documented history on reviews of calling cops on paying customers. The dm finally calls me and says the situation was just going to be settled as being left alone. They jointly decided I didn't owe extra money because of the issue the presented and how he treated me. That's all well and good but that doesn't justify my family and I being discriminated against by this guy and monitored during our entire 3 day stay. I don't care if the company gave me 10 days free to stay, I would not go back to this location and it still would not be a valid apology for the insulting situation, the harassment and discrimination we encountered being guests at this piscataway nj location. this location, it is dirty and they don't provide clean towels. buy towels and soap and a...
