This place gets 3 stars simply because the staff, both the cashier and starter, were so very friendly and accommodating. I arrived after 5pm so I wasn’t able to ride a cart, but they gave me a push cart. It rained heavily just a few hours before so most nearby courses were closed. Now about the actual track, it’s very short and not very well kept. The greens were so slow because the grass was tall and there were many surface damages. The tee boxes were carved up with huge divots, finding a spot to tee a ball was challenging. The fairways were flooded with water, and the approaches to the greens were very uneven. Many par 3 holes that require a simple gap/pitching wedge off the tee.
If you decide to play this track, even from the tips, leave your driver-3 wood-hybrids in your car. The longest iron I was able to hit was a 6-iron off the tee on 3 of their “longest” holes. Bring plenty of bug spray and your own source of water. This track is like hitting balls at a driving range, but off of grass and with real targets. I agree with many previous reviews, a beginners course all the way. The...
Read moreRaritan Landing is THE hidden gem of golf courses in NJ. I started playing golf since 2020 and I’ve been playing Raritan Landing since my beginnings. It’s a perfect setting for all golfers, noobs and veterans as well as casual and competitive. The staff is excellent and the course is always kept in great condition. The 18-hole, executive-style course runs nearly 3,300 yards with a Par 58. It’s extremely fun to play and it is the perfect course for me to haphazardly stumble upon. No, I’m not a local, coming from about 35 minutes away and still play weekly during the season. I get to work on my irons and putting game while also reaching for the driver on a few holes. I’m doing myself a disservice by letting the secret out. Get out there, hit some balls and see...
Read moreGot a tee time for 4:10 pm. Went to start the back 9 at 6:04. The drink girl (Madison) flagged me down and said that they have to take my cart because they always take in carts at 6. I told her no one told me that and it wasn't posted anywhere. She halfway apologized and said the clubhouse should have told me, but they still took my cart. Didn't even get to play the back 9. She argued cost wise it was a twilight so 9 holes cost the same as 18 holes, but I wouldn't have come and paid at all had I known I couldn't finish the course. They gave me the number to the manager (Hunter) but they never answered.
Usually this place is pretty chill but it looks like they had a bunch of kids running the...
