Thought about a short trip to Gatlinburg so We stayed in the first cabin prior to entering the gated area. It’s a a good place away from the hustle of life fI would have liked it inside the gated area where not just anyone can drive thru since it’s sit up close to the main road. It has a twin bunkbed, access to the bed is to crawl onto the end of the bed and one bathroom and shower is downstairs. The queen is upstairs with tv and closet. I am disabled veteran so some things like steps were a challenge since my wife and I sleep in the queen bed. Everything was newly built or looked new. They do 5% savings for honor to veterans but I wasn’t able to find out till later in a email and they were not able to refund that since I had already paid. Be nice if it was setup with ID.ME and automatically deducted the amount when paying. Owners said I had a credit I could use in their store at Creekside. I brought everything I needed so why do I need to spend on their store which I’d bet is higher than what was paid for so no. But if I can send the owners X amount of money online why can’t I be refunded back online. They also hold an additional 300.00 to make sure no damages are done to the property and the customer has to pay for the cleaning service and insurance fees when you reserve your cabin. There’s a rule book when u arrive that list what all has to be done prior to leaving like empty trash and take to the dumpster which is hard to lift the bear proof heavy dumpster lid especially if your older or disabled is tough. all linen is placed in The bathroom and dishes are cleaned or being washed and clean the fire pit out of all the ashes. For the amount of money to stay here we sure did help the next visitor out by doing half of the cleaning. So someone must keep the cleaning fees we didn’t get it for cleaning more than we should have to, to get to relax. There is close access to your vehicle from the cabin. It says fishing as a highlight for this particular cabin but it’s on the other side of park from where we stayed. I let the owners know that ants were everywhere especially in the kitchen and bathroom and after we got home we even brought some home In our luggage. The owners say it’s sprayed...
Read moreLast minute, we decided to rent one of the “Tiny Homes,” Dogwood, for a week-long vacation with my husband, two daughters (3 years and 2 years), and newborn son (2 months). We opted to board our dog because we were unsure whether the space would be too small for all the kids and him, but we probably could have brought him along. When we arrived, the cabin was beautiful. Often, the photos online oversell properties, but we were thrilled that the home was even more beautiful in person. We were also very pleased with how well-stocked the kitchen was since cooking at home is important for our family. We took advantage of the additional amenities, including the charcoal grill and fire pit. The kids absolutely loved early morning walks to the pond and cooking s’mores in the evening. The property was also located close to food options, grocery stores, and activities for the little ones.
As a mom of three young kids, I truly appreciated the washer and dryer, which allowed me to wash and fold everything before returning home, avoiding the burden of laundry on the first day back from vacation. On our third day at the property, the TV went out, but we received prompt communication about having it fixed or replaced, which occurred first thing the next morning.
My only complaint is that my husband left a bag of kettle corn open on the counter, and the next morning, there were what seemed like hundreds of ants congregating for their share of the treats. Despite my efforts to clean thoroughly, I saw ants each subsequent day. I didn’t factor this into the star rating because it was our own fault, although the house should have been better sealed, and I never reported it to see if the property manager could better manage the situation.
Overall, we left already planning our stay at the property for next year, and this time, we will be bringing some...
Read moreWe had the cutest weekend getaway in the Maple Cabin for my other half's birthday. The cabin was exactly as pictured, cute and cozy. Loved that the property had a locked gate for security and that the cabins used keypads/codes so we did not have to keep up with a key or keycard. The cabin was pristine and very clean.
The bed was very firm and honestly super uncomfortable to sleep on. My other half usually ended up on the couch half way through the night. The shower pressure could have been better but, it was fine for the weekend. There were adequate towels/wash cloths and complimentary pods for the washer and dishwasher. Wifi was great and definitely needed for cell use.
We booked the Hot Tug Boat and we were super excited for this. Unfortunately we were unable to take full advantage of this. The boats are very deep and while I was able to safely enter the boat, when my other half went to enter the boat he slipped and fell and ended up cutting his foot pretty significantly. The dock attendant was super nice and brought me the first aid kit - I'm in the healthcare field so I was able to handle it however, the first aid kit was lacking in some areas. We did get to sit in the hot tub for about 30 minutes while she assisted the other boat in getting loaded and out on the pond. The boat itself was nice, the water was warm and clean (there are ashes in the bottom of the boat but, that is to be expected with the wood fire). I would definitely recommend sitting on your bottom and stepping into the boat, it would also be beneficial to have a railing or handle of some sort to assist individuals in and out...
