Worst service ever. Never been to this place. Waitress never greeted us and when we asked where we should sit, she said shruged her shoulders and said, " where ever.." and went back to sweeping. Should of known then to just leave. It was beautiful outside and we wanted to enjoy the view on a Sunday afternoon. I just recently moved to town and wanted to show off the beauty of Polson to my mother and my close friend who were visiting in town. There were only 2 tables with other customers so we thought we would be ok with service. Not the case. The waitress did not come to our seating area for 15 minutes and by then we were getting hot. We asked first for some water and a wine list. She came back with water and no wine list, so we asked what she had. She said she didn't know and would go and find out. She came back and said she has merlot, pinot noir, pinot grigio, white zin... my mother then asked, "well we would like to know what brand pinot grigio is and price it is.." the waitress rolled her eyes and said she would go ask. I then started to become uncomfortable. Was it to much to ask what we would kind of wine we would order and what price is? She came back and said the pinot noir is such and such brand . I just asked the waitress to get us pinot grigio glass of wine and call it good. 15 min later she brought us our wine and asked if we wanted to order anything else. We said yes, we would like to START out with the fry bread with cheese. The waitress said ok and took our menus like we were done ordering? So we are trying to make the best of it, the couches and lounge area outside felt like a nice resort feel and there was also a dock that was apart of hotel to view. 20 minutes later the waitress hollered at us and said I'm sorry about the wait, that app will be right out-it was like she forgot about us all together and couldn't even come over to our sitting area to tell us. We did notice the tables beginning to fill up and she was the only waitress there. We were trying to be understanding, but then she came out 20 minutes later with a plate half filled with fry bread and some weird berry cream, and then there were a few french fries on the plate no napkins given, salt or even ketchup, and she said, "Oh I added some french frieds to order for the wait" so it took 40 minutes to get this plate of food we didn't even order and before We could say anything she was gone. We all 3 looked at each other like is this really going down? What is going on? Again, trying to be optimistic and make best of things we tried to laugh it off . While waiting for our waitress to bring Bill, which seemed to never come, we decided to walk out on The dock and get some pictures of us. As we walked half way down the dock, the workers who were gasing up boats smiled and waived (which was the first warm and friendly response we had gotten in 1.5 hour of being there). We sat on The little bench and began taking pictures and re-enjoying our time again. I was on my phone and looked up and saw two people with black hotel shirts and one said SECURITY on it , it was at that point they had my full attention and realized they were walking up to us. The woman not in security shirt stated she was The manager and that we have an unpaid bill that we must take care of right away. We again looked at each other is confusion, and my friend said , "are u serious? Did you actually think we were going anywhere ? ( if u look at The dock it's in a form of a t. We would literally have to jump off The dock into The lake to get away from this restaurant ! Not to mention we are 3 middle aged woman, my mother is 63! ) the manager firmly said , 'in ALL MY 9 years of working here I have NEVER HAD a customer walk down this dock" WOW. seriously? She came back with our reciept and we asked her what her name was and then she began to back track. Her fake sorry and offer to purchase another glass of wine, 'in hopes of us getting buzzed and FORGETTING THIS EVER HAPPENED." Couldn't be more Wrong lady. This was by far the worst dining experience for...
Read moreThis was a great place to go to gamble and eat really good food. The View was marvellous the rooms were spacious but not as clean as they could be especially with covid-19. Traveling with my daughter and son-in-law who run another motel having a near-perfect clean record they were able to point out things I never really would have noticed had they not pointed them out that made me disappointed in the cleaning the sweet that we stayed in and the Money Paid that it should have been a better job cleaning especially healthwise. There was some old issues. The bed was not made properly and wrinkly as if somebody had either been laying on it or they had not done a very good job making it there was smudges on the mirror of the last person there there were stains on the bath towels and that foretells. These are all things that could have potentially turned bad / covid. Do I have to say one thing that really got me was that there was a woman in the casino that took her mask off and was coughing all over the place especially with me sitting right there and when my daughter reported it to the proper people in the casino the only thing he did was to go over and ask her to put her mask back on and I thought it would have been more appropriate to ask her to leave the casino as it was very clear that she was sick with something. If I come down with covid-19 or any of my family members that were there or anybody else in that casino would be directly related to the gal sit next to me that did not have her mask on. That is a very serious issue for me and scared me a lot and I still have to wait see if I have any symptoms. That's my biggest complaint with the kwataqnuk and disappointment that they did not remove that girl and there are lives that could have been directly affected by that. Hopefully we won't get sick but how do we know ? So next time that there is a legit concern that is a possible health issue that big, rather than asking them to put their masks on think about telling them to get the hell out of the casino because they could have infected how many people. oh yeah. Also, being a Indian casino it felt a little discriminative because she was Indian and got to stay and just put her mask back on where I had to wonder if it was somebody else if they have handled it differently? I was a patron of the hotel that had rented a suite and spent quite a bit of money there and should have been treated as such. I was not even asked if there was anything that I needed after reporting the situation and worried about how she had coughed all over me to the point I had to get up and move away from what I was doing in the casino. Not...
Read morePerfect example of a mid-range Resort. There are some nice features, but several oddities that knock it down a few pegs. Instead of a Resort-Casino, it's a large, glorified Lucky Lil's with some rooms attached.
The main entrance doesn't inspire "come for the summer, stay for the casino night life", as much as "you are entering the casino".
Lobby smells like tobacco, as others have reported, and the check in desk is tucked away to the far left. Stairs to get down to the first floor rooms are "hidden in plain sight", and somehow not as prominent as you would expect them despite their size.
The rooms are nice, but forget about hooking anything up to the TV, as the remote to change the input is guarded by maintenence. Plus they're quite small screens - more incentive to not stay in the room. Which is understandable, because in the summer Polson is a beautiful place!
Pool area looks very stylish and functional, but it's kind of in an awkward place - next to the event offices and restaurant, and below the casino.
The room bathroom is big, with modern styling, that trips over itself for functionality. The shower is just a half-pane of glass and a large shower head. Looks modern - feels like a white - collar jail. I've been in pool "shower before you get in" showers that had better water pressure. The extra-large vanity has a light all around the outside, which is quite blinding to turn on. Touch controls for brightness on the glass are a cool feature.
In the bedroom, there's the standard hotel layout. Along with the standard 'annoying heater'. Even with the unit set to "off", it still kicks on every 6 minutes and runs for 2-3, usually blowing cold air when "off".
Upstairs in the smoke-filled casino, I did have some delicious food! Big burger and 2 domestic bottles was less than $20! For a quieter experience, try the restaurant downstairs. Same menu. They just bring the food up to the bar from downstairs.
This is our 3rd stay here while working in town, and the ladies at check in have always been very pleasant and helpful :)
So if you're looking for a family getaway in the summer, then splurge on a lakeside room and have a ball!
For a romantic or quiet getaway, maybe shop...
