This was a really cute motel. I counted 10 rooms total, which is a good number. Not so many that you can’t get help when you need it, but enough that you feel like there are people around for safety. I got there in the evening and had called ahead of time so they didn’t give my room away. They were very nice and were ready for me when I arrived. The town is very small; it only has 2 gas stations. One at each end of the town. They also had one small convenience store that has really cute souvenirs and last-minute necessities. They had a few freshly cooked items, including potato wedges which were very good. The motel was old, but seemed to be well kept. The room was very clean and tidy. I felt very safe there. It is right off the main highway, so you hear cars and trucks often. Even though the speed limit through town is 25, I think many people don’t abide by that. The bathroom was very small, but clean and in good repair. The bed was comfortable and they provided plenty of warm blankets. It got a little chilly quick so I asked the owner if he could turn up the heat a little. The room doesn’t have its own thermostat so they have to control it from the office; which I think is a little inconvenient. The room had a desk with chair, a lounge chair, tv, mini fridge and microwave. It had plenty of space to spread out and room for suitcases. The price was very reasonable for a nights stay. It could use a little TLC, but overall, I thought it was a good place to stay. I would...

Read moreThis is the ONLY hotel/motel in the County. It is currently being remodeled by the long time owners. Some of the rooms are nice, some are still in need of updating (carpets, paneling, a/c units, etc) . That being said, they are clean and comfortable. The rooms have flat panel TV and offer Direct TV, Free Wi-Fi, Small fridge, microwave and accept some pets. The owners, Robert & Ronda are nice, but, not real outgoing. The handyman Bob and his wife are very friendly. I would recommend The Pioneer Motel if you are in Pomeroy, Washington. And while you are here, be sure to visit the Pataha Flour Mill. The food is simple and delicious. The Old mill is well preserved with so much history that you can spend hours just...
