It is amazing when a restaurant in a town like Pomeroy can remain in business. The owners wanted it to be more than a tavern but a strictly family restaurant cannot remain open without a decent population base. In fact, there were notices on the table stating days of closure due to lack of business. However, I thought they were doing pretty good business especially for a Wednesday evening in a small town. I was part of a party of 8 and even though they were told ahead of time about our arrival, I'm not sure they knew quite what to expect. They accommodated us as graciously as they could. We had two servers; the one who knew we were coming and one who was a trainee. I'm not sure who was in the kitchen but our meals came out half of us and then about the time that half was finishing the rest of us got our meals.
I ordered the ribeye sandwich and was not disappointed with the quality of the meat. Tender and flavorful. It was accompanied by siracha fries which were good as they were but with the name "siracha" I was expecting a bit more zing than I got. Other comments around the table reflected the same feeling. Others had salads which looked quite good. Rather than a bunch of chopped up iceberg lettuce, which is what you might expect to find in a place like this, these salads were mostly spring mix and other greens. Very impressive. In fact, the food was not your typical rural greasy spoon offering; it was actually quite cosmopolitan yet it had that air of rural comfort food. The prices were very reasonable too. Overall, not a bad place to visit; you may just not want to be part of a large group if time is of...

This could have been an amazing sandwich had they trimmed the fat off like kansas bbq. Bbq sauce was really good, fries were on the small portion size. But the lady asked me how it was and I told her. Trim all the fat off and it would be a Great sandwich. Other than that, very hospitable....
Read moreReally great food and service. The owner/waitress/server/bartender was working her butt off, and still take time to make all her customers feel welcome. They need to place signs directing customers with children to enter through the correct doors, so there’s no confusion when someone stops there that isn’t actually from that area. The menu is extremely limited. There’s a more extensive list of...
