A great affordable camping area including showers and bathroom. It was very clean and the host was so nice. There were no issues with older rigs, trailers and any style tent was allowed. With the limitations around the country right now at many of the campgrounds, the age of your camper or rig can be turned away. The fairgrounds was an absolutely wonderful option! We woke up to a misty morning field view before attending the wooden boat show! Pets are allowed on leashes.

We rented the Oscar Erickson Building for an event, two years running. The staff were excellent to work with and very accommodating. The fees were reasonable. The stage is nice. Wi-fi available for event staff but not attendees. The room is a little dated and brown, so we brought a lot of color, and the bathrooms could use some work.

We stayed at the Jeff. Co. Fairgrounds for four months. They stated that it was a 10 day limit, but no one bothered us, as long as we paid. While it was great in the fact that it provided us with a spot for our stay in Port Townsend while we worked fun and exciting jobs in the idealistic town, it left a sour taste in our mouths. We paid the $20 a night (equating to $600) a month for 20 amp and water hook ups. There were limited full hook up sites, with sewer, for $5 more ( another $150 a month). The showers, which we were grateful to have, were dirty and poor in water temperature and quality. There were no other amenities such as internet or laundry. It was just a grassy field. No privacy. The fairgrounds is meant to be a night to night campground. Why they let us stay for months, we will never know. But there are many full time residents. We grew into a cute community. The people here were amazing. The management was almost nonexistent and they just took our money, no questions asked. We paid far too much for what we got, we now know. For anyone thinking about a stay in the fairgrounds, here's what you need to know: It gets crazy busy during the Summer weekends, especially Wooden Boat Festival. They raise the prices x2 during the fair and kick out all the normal residents. It's a great, affordable nightly spot to stay while visiting Port Townsend.

We hope to never end up at the...

This campground served its purpose. We decided to drive up to Port Townsend on a whim but we could not find a camp ground that actually had space or would allow us to make a reservation. We also got a very late start and didn’t arrive into Port Townsend until 10 pm. When we pulled in to the campground there is a self pay station right there. You have to take an envelope and mark which site you stayed in and insert the envelope with your payment inside into the box. When we got there, there were about 5 tent camping spots left and a lot of RV spots with no hookups. There RV section with hookups seemed pretty full. We have a very large tent- 8 person with a screened porch. It would not fit in one of the tent spots comfortably. We ended up moving over to one of the spots for RVs with no hookups and it was good. The ground was really flat and it’s all grass. There is no privacy in the camping spots at all. There are also no fire pits. The bathrooms are okay. They were clean and the sinks had hot and cold water. There were showers you could pay for. The campground itself has nothing to do as far as activities go. In my opinion it really is just a place to sleep, but that was exactly...

Tonka Toys Spring Exposition is in April at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Camping all weekend with power.

Saturday is mud drag races by class. Run order is ATV class, lap sitters, kids, street 4, street 6, street 8. Each class gets a parade lap. Then double elimination starts for the trophies. After lunch break is open 4, open 6, open 8, and SXS classes. At the end of the day, all first place winners compete for the top eliminator thophy. The tough truck obstacle course is open for practice all day.

Sunday is the timed obstacle course competition. Two runs per entry. Same classes as drags. No particular order. Competition ends when all runs are completed.

Bounty hole competition is the last event. Best time across the deepest hole wins. Smallest tires run first. First one across wins bounty. Fastest one across wins trophy.

Trophy presentation at the end...
