This place is an absolute gem! It's stunningly beautiful and such a delightful discovery. The receptionist at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to assist me. While the rooms may have had a slightly outdated aesthetic, they exuded a charming old-world vibe that added to the overall appeal. Despite their vintage charm, the rooms were spotlessly clean, which is always a top priority for me when staying somewhere new. The beauty of the surroundings and the warmth of the staff more than made up for any minor imperfections in the room decor. There's something special about staying in a place with a bit of history and character, and this establishment definitely had that in spades. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of tranquility and relaxation wash over me. The picturesque views outside my window only added to the enchanting atmosphere. It was like stepping into a scene from a bygone era, where time seemed to slow down and every moment was savored. Overall, my experience at this hidden gem was nothing short of delightful. It's the kind of place that stays with you long after you've left, leaving you with fond memories and a longing to return. I'll definitely be coming back to bask in the beauty and charm of this wonderful find.

I can't say enough about this amazing little place. First of all I love the manager!!! Rogene is the best manager I've ever had to deal with. Super accommodating and friendly and very helpful. We were calling in with no clue about this place and I basically took a chance and I am so glad I did. The rooms are so cute and I'm going to say it a million times in this review, but they were the cleanest rooms I've ever been in my life. Their cleaning person angie is impeccable and meticulous. We must have told her at least four times about how clean the place is. The views were amazing and falling asleep to the rushing River sound was a dream. There was a little sunken outdoor fireplace area which we enjoy that night, and there are plenty of barbecues bring your own food. There is a great little country store right across the street that you can get your supplies from including fishing supplies if you're into that. Also great owners there too. I can't wait to come here again. I hope to meet our friend Rogene and her husband again also!

This place will waaaay exceed your expectations! Cute and charming, with direct access to the river that is NOT crowded! Rooms are big and clean, with kitchenettes. I disagree with the other commenters statement that it's a little outdated as far as the decor goes. The decor is actually made to be like a cabin, with furniture made out of wood logs. So Kevin decor does look like the '80s decor, but there is intent behind it. And it's cheap enough to just come hang out for the weekend, if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a city and just stay in a tranquil peaceful place. Has private access to its own private beach, too! Staff was super nice, as well. Right across the place is the General market and a barbecue place that serves breakfast starting at 7:30. So you will not go hungry, just go across the street and you can buy whatever you need, so this place is in a perfect location.

Well, I don't usually write reviews...But I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the customer service at this location. When I called to reserve a room I specified that I would have 4 people in the room, which is why I reserved a "Family Room". I know that I clarified this with whomever made my reservation. Unfortunately I did not get her name. So I was told my total after taxes would be: $150.04 . When I arrived Diana checked me in. She did not check my I.D. which is a security issue. I paid her cash for the room. Shortly after I checked in my friends and I discovered the toilet was not working properly. I called Diana and she was more than happy to come help us and was very kind! This is a key point because at this point she was very aware of how many people were in my room. Our stay was fantastic. We checked out. No problems. Until I get home to find that Diana sent me and e-mail saying: " I noticed you booked for 2 people only so i had to charge you for the additional people". .........??? So she just decided to charge an additional $30.00 to my friends card? I called her and explained that whoever booked the room was well aware that it was a party of 4. She responded that whoever took my reservation put 2 and that she still needed to charge me. I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. It was NOT my mistake that they didn't quote me the correct rate. So she said she would ask the receptionist that took my reservation about it and call me the next day....SURPRISE. She never called. So I call her. :) She explains that the receptionist denies that I ever said I had 4 people which I saw that one coming...and then she proceeds to mock me for being "so worried about $20.00" I corrected her because it was $30.00 and she was fighting me on that?! LOL like uh...I'm looking at the statement RIGHT NOW and it is in fact a $30.00 charge. And I did not appreciate being mocked for $30.00 . I'm 23 years old and I am not rich. That's my food money. I work in the hotel industry and this kind of behavior is not okay. I'm genuinely disappointed because I truly enjoyed my stay and was prepared to tell everyone I know to stay there when they get a chance...but now it will be the complete opposite. I will NEVER stay at the Sequoia Lodge again and I WILL tell everyone I know and my guests as well to avoid this location at all costs simply due to how I was treated by Ms....

Warning........Bed Bugs .... I was in training to be the Innkeeper May 14,2018 thru May 19,2018. On May 16, 2018 my husband was doing some repairs in room 5 and had to move the bed and when doing so, he saw to big black spots on the mattress cover. When he took a closer look he seen a infestation of bed bugs. He immediately went to the owners Cathy and Joe Cunningham to advise them of the situation, they rushed over to check it out and then told my husband to take everything off the beds and then steam the mattress with the steamer (they had bought a steamer for this very reason they told us, for the previous time they had bed bugs. they read steam would kill them) my husband questioned Cathy about the guests that we're going to be checking in later that day. He asked her if she was going to still put them in this room and and Cathy said "YES I AM AFTER YOU STEAM THE MATTRESS THREE TIMES" My husband and another part time maintenance man named Jake proceeded to steam the mattress and as that was going on I over heard Cathy telling the housekeeping to wash the bedding and not to throw it away because those mattress covers we're expensive, that they had bought those the last time they had bed bugs. Later that evening Cathy and I were locking the laundry room door and I noticed the mattress cover in dryer and the sheets, when I asked her why they didn't get thrown away she told me they were to expensive and the dryer should have killed the bed bugs..... My husband and I couldn't rest knowing all of this and the poor guests In room 5. We thought they have to be in every room if they were infested like that in room 5. So the next morning my husband and I went to speak to Cathy and Joe about the situation and told them we were not comfortable with how it was handled and how we feel the customers in Room 5 should definitely be let Known........ well needless to say that's why we don't work there anymore , 1 day later we were told we were not cut out to be Innkeepers and we were fired.. some may think I'm posting this for retaliation but If you knew me I'm not that kind of person. So If you do decide to stay there PLEASE CHECK YOUR...

I called to ask about the pet policy and our breed of dog and was told the rules by the manager. I told her I was making a reservation through bookings , She told me it was better to make it through her because I can save money ( 4 dollars) but whatever so I did book it then with her . We arrived 40 minutes later and she was asking us about our jobs and making small talk . We got our key and went to our room . We were right on the water so we left our door open until around 9 pm . My husband and our neighbors were outside smoking and talking most of the night. The next morning we check out and then around an hour later I get a call asking if I can call the motel due to the condition of our room. I was very confused because we always leave our motel very clean and in 40 years have never had any problems as we travel a lot . I call the manager and she asks why I did not tell her we had pets . Excuse me ? I absolutely did tell you and we discussed the 100 dollar deposit, the breed etc. She proceeded to tell me I was supposed to pay for them . Ok you are the one charging me !! I didn’t check my account to see so I guess it’s my fault? Then she tells me they we’re watching us on camera and saw my husband crush his cigarette out on the railing and throw it into the dry creek . That never happened also our room needed a special treatment because she said we’re convinced you were smoking inside the room . Not true at all . I have asthma and my husband smokes outside always . There is no designated area for smoking so people smoke right off the patio within steps of the rooms . I do not appreciate these false accusations and will never stay there again or recommend anyone else stay there . Also when we called her dog was barking so much I couldn’t even hardly understand her then when we check in she lets him run out of her apartment...
