If you're looking for hospitality as far as people friendliness, this probably is not the hotel for you. Or at least if you do decide to check into this hotel. At least you will have the expectations so please follow the below. Check the date when this is posted so there are no surprises: I called to make sure they had rooms, as the other hotels in Central City were all booked up so I came here. When the kid answered you could hear the TV in the background and it sounded like there was a group of people standing around him and he may not even have been in the hotel not sure-just lots of talking in back ground -not anywhere near professional. Again, please bear in mind. I am writing this only so you are not surprised when you check in not to be mean or anything else because I was somewhat surprised at the atmosphere as well as the hospitality- of which there was none. Upon me walking in there were about four people. I assume owners sitting around in the lobby. There was trash on the outside on the ground as well as a stuffed garbage can as apparently employees relaxed. Not sure what was going on there. The kid who checked me in was just going thru motions, at best. He asked me for my ID..... it went" ID ,... credit card. $85 a night You are in room.1xx .
In the previous comments, the no breakfast is correct, but I also want to be sure you read. There is absolutely no coffee. No coffee in the room. No coffee at the front. Nothing. My room was fine. I did not really have a problem with the room. I did not see cockroaches. The furniture is somewhat worn. I did bring my own sanitizing wipes so I wiped everything down myself. The TV did kind of work. I had to fix it. It was unplugged but took forever for me to figure out, once I did plug it in and I believe there are only about 12 channels. The hotel room itself was quiet. I did not hear noise around or above me and the bed was comfortable.
The air conditioner in my room worked fine.
Hopefully this helped one or two of you make the decision whether you want to stay here or not. Happy...
Read moreDO NOT BOOK HERE unless you are entirely desperate or out of other options! My expectations for the hotel were not very high for the price, but this was so far below par for even a 1-star it was appalling. My husband and I had been on the road in a cramped car since Arizona and simply wanted a bed to sleep in for the night. We didn't even care about amenities like breakfast (which is advertised online and on their sign... But do not actually have) and we didnt care that it was a smoking room. Right away we overheard an obviously loud and frustrated sigh when we had to ring the bell to get a card that actually opened our room door, customer service desperately needs work but could easily be looked past..... BUT if I had known the extent of the state of the room and the service, we would have paid the extra $25 and pushed another hour to the next town for a room for the night. It looks like they are attempting to repair and renovate but they SHOULD NOT be renting out these rooms and taking peoples money KNOWING how bad and unsanitary the rooms are. From finding dead bugs, broken glass between the matress and box spring, dirt and stains on blankets that could be blood, tobacco chew, or God knows what else, sheets and towels stained, no shower curtain, headboard had palm prints all over, the list goes on. Unless you see the room first and/or are completely desperate, DO not pay for a room here. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I really hope the owners or management will stop booking these rooms until they are fixed and...
Read moreMy friends and I stayed here during hunting season for years. It was never the Ritz but it was clean, serviceable, reasonably priced and offered veterans discount. For about the last 4 years or so it has been on a steep decline. We witnessed the change in ownership and yes there were problems but we thought with the "refurbishing" things would improve. They did not. And the immediate price increase did not result in better service or amenities. Rooms have been under state of refurbishing for about three years now and even the new stuff is abused and broken already. Some old furnishings still sit in hallway right where they were last year. You may or may not get friendly service depending on who is on duty when you check in. As other reviews have noted reserving adjoining rooms is now a joke. Lucky to be on same floor when you get there. The breakfast was always simple but it's been cut to barest, most generic and even unsanitary. Virtually everything from furnishings down to soap appear to have been purchased on a third world bargain basement website. But the worst thing, also mentioned in other reviews, is the horrible odor that seems to permeate everything. We had our usual 4 person, 2 room 4 night reservation this year. Only two of us stayed the first night and both checked out the next morning, all of us vowing...
