Catfish Dock — Restaurant in Powderly

Visiting the area while staying in a vacation rental on Lake Malone. Our kids really wanted fish since they have been fishing all week. We decided to stop here for lunch to fulfill their craving. Because two of us are medically fragile we have not eaten in a restaurant for the past six months. To be honest, we were nervous to expose our at-risk kiddoes. However, our concerns were immediately lessoned upon entering the restaurant. The tables they are using have been separated by tables that are clearly marked to not sit at, spacing everyone in the building large distances from each other. The salt and pepper and other condiments are in individual containers and/or being cleaned before delivered to the table. The food was delicious and a good quantity for the price. The fish was so hot one of us burned our mouth (another plus for staying safe during COVID). Met my Sister and her Hubby there today for lunch. They live locally there, we are a couple hours away. Our experience was awful. I ordered the BBQ sandwich plate with Cole slaw and fries. The BBQ had the sauce already incorporated in it. It appears they tried to warm it up on the griddle and they burnt it really bad. Along with that the buns had been laid on the griddle as well and burnt as well. I’m not talking about just over toasted, I’m talking about “BURNT”. The sweet little waitress offered me something else, and I told her to just bring me a cheeseburger with onions. When it came, the bun again was burnt. Again, not just over toasted, burnt. She took it off our bill, and I had Fries and Cole Slaw for lunch. My husband ordered the Chicken Planks, they were not fried, they were microwaved. Bad bad. The catfish was dry, baked potato brown on the inside. Hush puppies were bland. Fried mushrooms were great. Good portions, just not great food. Hopefully it was a bad night there…..just tried it for a second time.. ordered a four piece catfish meal naked potato hush puppies Cole slaw. I got it delivered, only two tiny pieces of fish. Potato was good but extremely small. Cole slaw was like soup. I called out on hold for a while. They came back and said next time I order they will give me two extra pieces of fish. Then no lie she proceeds to tell me they had a rush and a lot of people got shorted. They had to make sure they had enough for the orders they had, and everyone was complaining.
