One of the most beautiful campgrounds I've ever seen.
The location is stunning w beautiful water running along the creek, and the development of the campground just beautifies the natural splendor even more.
The planning of the space is nicely laid out. The campgrounds themselves are some of the nicest I've ever seen. Each one featuring a parking spot, picnic table, BBQ and fire pit with a graded tent spot so you won't be tripping over rocks, branches, etc. in the woods.
Some of the spots are riverside and feauture beautiful rock retaining walls. See photos for details
Park has basic but nice (heated in winter) bathroom / showers. Yes the bathrooms had actual toilets w decent TP - as opposed to those outhouse holes so many recreational parks have.
For those not interested in roughing it the park features rv spots, rustic cabins, and glamping cabins, etc...
The park has regular activities and nature walks w a guide scheduled throughout the...
Read moreDo not expect a refund, even if the weather is potentially dangerous. I arrived in Friday and was willing to stay the two night minimum, which I had already paid for. However, a snow storm was supposed to move in Sunday. The snow storm could have proved too difficult to traverse, so I requested a refund. I was told "he" would make the call Saturday. When Saturday came, I told that "he" (whom I later discovered is the park superintendent) would not issue refunds, it was up to me to "Google the weather" and make my own call. I asked if the park with provide assistance if my RV was stuck; "no" was the reply. With only about 4 campsites occupied, I think a $40 refund isn't too much to ask for. Especially with regard to the safety of the patrons. I'm not saying I won't go back; the park is lovely. But, I will adjust my expectations about the park's attitude...
Read moreWe stayed in campground e and the trail leads right down to Lee creek and the views are stunning! The bathrooms were clean but some of the shower fixtures weren't working properly. We went in the fall and the waterfall on decils trail wasn't as big as the pictures but still worth the hike. I will say we got lost on this trail what appeared to be the right fork wasn't a trail at all and eventually petered out into nothing. Be advised this is not a trail for wimps clutzes or small children. This park is somewhat difficult to reach if u r in a vehicle longer then 30 ft we r in a school bus and didn't like the road from Winslow and yes we took the proper exit for longer vehicles. Rangers are friendly! All in all one of the most beautiful we have...
