Clean, bug free, comfortable, priced right.
As a business traveler, I hardly ever stay at "off brand, economy hotels." Not because I'm a snob, or anything, but basically when you travel alot, there are certain standards & amenities that you come to expect. Frequent travelers need hasel free, drama free, comfortable accommodations. Often times economy accommodations attract the non business types that pack 2 adults & 4 children into the room next to you, and make it difficult to work, and relax.
This place was recommended by the sales rep that I had come to town to work with. He said that it was recently remodeled and nice. So, on his word, I gave it a try.
The property presented well from the outside. Clean and well maintained appearance. Upon entering, it also presented we, being clean, organized, and comfortable.
The front desk staff was pleasant, and got me checked in quickly.
The room was ok. The furnishings were of the economy type, but were in good condition. The room passed my major inspection items; bed bug free, clean, quiet, and somewhat comfortable.
The bedding was nice, and the mattress was comfortable. The pillows were not great.
The towels were medium soft, and there was an adequate amount. I was pleasantly surprised by the soaps, lotions, and shampoo that they provided. I don't use them, because I bring my own, but usually "economy hotels" don't provide nice toiletries. The shower was nice, clean shower curtain and liner, good water pressure, and plenty of hot water.
The television was on the smaller side, had a decent picture, sluggish remote, and there wasn't a plethora of stations. It was adequate.
Breakfast was fair. The reconstituted yellow egg circles and similarly sized mystery sausages looked recent, cause I don't think you can call them fresh. All of the breads and bagels were individually factory wrapped, which means loaded with artificial flavors and preservatives. Pouches of instant oatmeal, without hot water present, & canned fruit. I'm striking out so far. They did have the atypical do it yourself waffle batter and waffle irons. So, I skipped breakfast. This might be ok for a causal traveler, but not for me.
Because the agency that I was working with had an arrangement with the hotel for $79 a night. Online with AAA discount, it was $110.
So to summarize, bug free, clean, comfortable economy lodging, for people that don't like breakfast.
Ill stay here again next time I'm in town if I can get it for$79. If not I'll stay at the Peru Hampton inn.

Read moreWould not stay here again. Especially for $142 on a weeknight. At best this is a Super 8 ($80-$90 a night) hotel. I would expect the problems I had if it was a Motel 6, but not for $142 a night.|- Door would not completely shut/latch unless you pressed your shoulder/body against it and 'lift' the handle. Had to have the manager come down to my room to show me this lol|- Sink stopped up (photo attached) - |- Shower slow to drain - standing in someone else's backed up bacteria - nice!. HOW does a maid clean a sink and tub but NOT notice this backup or report it???|- Hard bed |- Bathroom door wasn't level, so the top was splintering and rubbed against the frame so everytime you open/close bathroom door it made a loud 'ker-chunk' sound.|- Absolutely NO block-out curtains (photo attached) the room is lite up the entire night (not to mention about four LED lights on various items in the ceiling, blinding when you open your eyes while trying to sleep).|- Depressed area with basic fast-food restaurants. The breakfast looked weak, so I went to the McDonalds.|- Only one 'upscale' restaurant and it was not very good.|- The shower/sink/bed/window wasn't noticed when I checked in, otherwise would have requested another room, but went to dinner, came back and realized door was NEVER shut, didn't notice other things til I was unpacked.|BOTTOM LINE: I would not stay in Princeton or the AmericInn in the future. Would stop in Peru or continue on to next exit. didn't expect to go into this much detail, but for that price, absolutely...
