On the way back to Sarnia to cross the border into Canada, we stopped for lunch at Culver’s. We saw their multitude of locations along the places we visited. It was our last chance to try them, so we didn’t pass up the opportunity.
Something to note about Culver’s is that you don’t order your food at your table. Instead, you order everything in line at the front, and they’ll then bring your food to your table. And their drive-thru system is unique. An employee stands there in person to take your order, rather than speaking through a mic and speaker.
My parents and I ordered almost exactly the same things. The only difference was our appetizers. They got fries, which were average; I got cheese curds and thought it was cool how half of the curds were cheddar and the other, mozzarella.
We took Butter Burgers. They were given this name because they’re lightly toasted with butter. On mine, there was American cheese, mustard, and red onions. It was a nice burger, something like one from Shake Shack or a smashburger. My parents had no problem finishing theirs.
Milkshakes were the final stage of our meal. They shared one and I had one for myself. They were both malted, and had hot fudge sauce and cookie dough chunks. Ours were a real treat (speaking for both myself and my parents).
The total was $32 USD.
Culver’s was the right way to conclude our trip. This trip, from my perspective anyway, was meant to broaden my understanding of food and refine my palate. Success...
Read moreWas at Culvers for lunch when I visited my parents in August and I have to say I was disappointed. Waited almost a half hour for our food and when it got to us it wasn't even how we ordered it, and was barely lukewarm at best. When I went talked to the staff both at the window and park out they look and spoke as if they were really mad about something. The girl who ran out the food knocked on the window placed it in my lap and left without a word. We were missing a sandwich and a thing of large cheese curds and the other sandwich we got was definitely not what we ordered. We went back through the drive through and when we said our order was wrong and asked if we could get a replacement at least for what was missing she snapped and said "girl if we had time to waste on you like that we'd have done it by now, have a nice day!" That fact that my grandmother gasped said it all, I wasn't hearing things ... We flat out just left. Entirely rude, a waste of...
Read moreThis place went from 4 stars to 2. They used to be one of 3 of the places with a high set of standards in Princeton. One of 3 places I would even consider eating at. It's quite obvious they lost their standards after covid. They must have a bunch of new poorly trained "employees". They can never get the toppings right. Plus why are the buns always squished?? Just taking your poor life choices out on us? This wasn't a place I had to babysit by checking my order. It's actually sad that I can cook better than everyone in town and I don't cook for a living. It's so sad how incredibly incompetent princeton folk are. No wonder this place is slowly turning into a ghost town. I'll continue to go for the sides that are impossible to mess up (fries, pretzel bites, curds, and custard). Yall are absolutely giving culvers a bad name. Ever chain in Princeton is giving the entire chain a bad name. Good job for assimilating.... 😂😂😂😂 Princeton is one big giant...
