I wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone. Built in 1859 its a beautiful combination of the original building and modern features. I've never felt so relaxed. They have a choice of several rooms, but I highly recommend the cottage, and the hotub is right next to it.
Our Room: warm colors, soft bed and recliners, wall mounted tv, deep tub with jets (and hot water that never runs out), screened in porch, and "romance package". All combined created the cosiest, most relaxing, and romantic environment.
Owners Amanda and Damon are so friendly and accommodating. We were given a tour upon our arrival, and we never wanted for anything while we were here, which was apparent right from the start when we were greeted. There were fresh cookies waiting for us in the entry way, and communal fridge, filled with a wide variety of different drinks, such a welcoming and thoughtful gesture. We had 24 hour access to the room with cookies, sodas, coffee and tea.
Breakfast in the morning blew us away. We have to come back, even just for breakfast alone. Damon is an amazing cook! Our first morning we had Holendaise eggs, sausage roll, bowl of fresh fruit, and homemade sticky bun. Day 2 we had biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, homemade hash browns, and yogurt parfait. Always with coffee, water, and orange juice. Amanda and Damon were so attentive, so friendly and funny, they made us feel like welcome friends in their home. They had plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area, which proved to be beautiful, and rich in history and variety. I 100% will be back, and I'm already looking...
Read moreI was looking for an out of the way location to celebrate my wife’s birthday, one not too far from Bel Air, MD, and near Pleasant Valley Golf Course. I found this place, in “Railroad PA (which I’d never before heard of), and it was a delightful experience. We stayed two nights, Weds & Thurs, 8/27 & 28, 2025, guests of Amanda and Damon. We stayed in the “Stonewall Jackson” room, very spacious, great bed, and great shower. This was the only room on the 2nd floor, across from a large sitting room. In fact, it was like having our own private living room : ) . ||Our two breakfasts were nicely presented, and while we are not fans of poached eggs served the first morning, there was enough of the rest of the breakfast. The 2nd day’s blueberry waffles were very good. Note: I thought the coffee was very good!|Their web site is a bit dated but still provided plenty of helpful links. The location is certainly off the beaten path, but that said, you could walk outside and were withing 100 feet of the “Heritage Rail Trail”, which we took advantage of; great for walkers and bike riders alike. ||Amanda and Damon were very nice hosts and we would wholeheartedly recommend this B&B. |Dave...
Read moreWe just came back from our overnight stay at the Jackson House. We had an absolutely amazing time! The weather is the only thing that didn’t want to cooperate but we had so much fun at the bed and breakfast that it didn’t matter. The house was spotless and full of charm. The hosts went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and spoiled!!! There were fresh cookies waiting for us when we arrived as well as a variety of other refreshments and a very warm welcome. After biking all day it was so relaxing to hang out in their beautiful parlor, relaxing with friends and utilizing their hot tub. Breakfast the next morning was just the icing on the cake. Damon made a special breakfast for someone in our party because he overheard them say they didn’t do eggs. The meal was delicious and the company of the hosts and other travelers was so enjoyable. We had planned to go biking the second day but due to the rain we just hung out and enjoyed meeting the fellow travelers staying with us. Would highly recommend a stop at the Jackson House if you ever...
