It was everything a roadside Motel right on the interstate should be.... I was driving my son-in-law's Jeep from Chicago to Virginia and hitting tourist traps on the way when suddenly in the rain my windshield washers stopped working in the dark in 30° weather so I immediately got off the road found the closest motel that wasn't $180 for the night luckily this place was 5 miles away and I didn't have to take any crazy turns.... It was 10:00 at night and the front desk answered like it was noon on a sunny day had availability gave me a great rate I got there she had everything ready the room was already warmed up it was right behind the office and the smells from whatever the hotel manager was cooking were amazing..... The room was clean and warm and inviting.... water for my shower was hot.. there was cable and wifi and coffee at the desk....
Upon getting up in the morning there was fresh coffee and the views outside are pretty interesting, especially for someone who's from the city all these brick buildings and Big Open Fields I felt like I was in an episode of Schitt's Creek...
Not for one single second did I feel unsafe, and being a female traveler staying in a roadside Motel.... That speaks volumes.
The Bed was comfy, and clean, the A/C wall unit heated that room to 80 very quickly... All in all... It was a great Motel.
Def. Recommend!!
Heading out to check out the local art walk as recommended by the Office...
Read moreDespite my initial skepticism about Knights Inn Motels, I read Trip Advisor reviews and decided to make a reservation. We checked in Thanksgiving night en route to northeastern Indiana. The room was immaculate, probably one of the cleanest motels at any price I've ever visited. Yes, the motel looks like it was built in 1962, and the amenities are very sparse, but the spotless rooms and the low price well outweigh those minor negatives. As an added plus, the woman at the desk was very friendly and the check in procedure took about three minutes. The only problem we had in our room (122) involved the heater. It seemed all it would put out was intense heat...all or nothing. Halfway through the night, the room almost steamed, getting up to 90, and sleep was impossible. Putting the controls on "low heat" made no difference. I shut off the heater, the room cooled down. That was fine except that, due to being 23 degrees outdoors, i had to turn the heater on again, and once again we broiled. The wall thermostat seemed to do nothing while the unit under the window turned the room into a veritable steam bath. Then again, perhaps I didn't operate the controls correctly. Regardless of the heater issue, I was pleased with the overall experience at the Knight's Inn and will return if I drive that way again. As a note, for the low price, there is no breakfast offered, but fast food is right...
Read moreCalled asking for monthly price rate, woman tells me over the phone 550$ for cheapest room (and I’m like wow! That’s a deal), so I stop in a few hours later in person, ask for everything I’ll need to rent a room for a month for a friend. She says it’s 600$ and will only need ID, no need to do anything else. So I say “first person told me 550 but that’s fine, I’ll be back when he gets in town tomorrow!”
So I show up next day and she says she has to call her husband because the rooms they have available are not clean yet. That’s fine, then she passes the phone to me and her husband (the owner I presume) says “it’s 1200$ for a month stay”
At which point we turned around and left. Their sign outside says 224 a week ffs. And supposed to pay more than weekly rate for the month? Moronic, 224x4 is 896. So wanted to charge an additional 300$ for an extended stay? Flawless logic!
They’re Disorganized as ever, no one has any idea what they’re doing obviously
Went down the street to economy inn, their terms and prices all straight forward. Checked in immediately without issue.
Don’t waste your time at this place. They want to charge more than the economy inn down the street while providing less overall, and apparently don’t even know what their signs prices state. Literally can’t recommend you don’t waste your time...
