Mayfair Motel — Hotel in Ridgecrest

you will love this place if u are weary of urban issues...need a complete retreat that u yourself plan..or don't plan..just do! then do nothing for a few days!!awe ok I'll say it the cliche awesome...well THIS PLACE IS AWESOME ACTUALLY!!! Managers' awesome people, manager's hilde her husband paul..so awesome...so secure..so very reasonable....totally rebuilt...brand new beds..brand new everything! best motel for quaint kind& friendly on site management beautiful experience...so clean in such a dusty high desert get away...perfect for many reasons absolutely real american rustic...bring hiking gear...daytime highs well above normal range high winds..nights startlingly enchanting skies///really enchanting town...like no other..a real rustic rural experience w/ airport and many buss/tour choices....great destination in it's own right. CHARM itself..secluded...spectacular view from the corner of 2nd &178 contact them or just swing by...travellers'/tourists/hikers/bikers'etc come from all over the globe...locals endearing... itself the motel very endurigly relaxing..quiet&restfull!NIGHT AIR Beautiful don't let day highs or wind storms fool you...even in hottest part of fire-season summer...nighttime lows well in the coolish(&)'s& below at times...cleanest reasonably priced motel rooms in all of california...certainly kern county; ventura county..or santa barbara..ask for hilde the manager...ring the bell..discovery relaxation at the top of the road leading down to r/c...easy to find? well certainly NOT IN SANTA BARBARA OR LOS ANGELESoff the usual beaten paths prfect pacific trail spot...military..base close by...plenty of safe paeking...wonderous skies enchanting views...interesting weather.. if u go to bakersfield i took taxi from there over weekend prior to fourth fire was in lake isabella...fun place to rest meander a bit at night...on 178...virtually closer to the heavens...small airport...many other charming things to mention..really fun..really safe..brand new everything great people/great prices...quaint charm will suck u in...look for it next time u wanna litterally get away from it all! so charmingly quaint..the little town is i never wanted to leave it...great tlc from staff&manager's alike...if this is what u r looking for u will not be disappointed! mary anita schmidt 8/16/16 ps not a fake review i cannot wait to go back! loved it there...miss it already:)! miss the couple who manage it...

It was really good for the most part Stayed 5 days it was very clean however the only problem we had was the innkeeper , he was not very congenial maybe he’s not much of a talker says sister bought the motel and renovated it which yes it is was very nice and clean however he was not very friendly and we had to ask for a roll of toilet paper everyday while we were there, we wanted to extend our day acuple more days and he said they were going to be closed on Monday and Tuesday until his sister overheard the conversation and insisted we stay the extra days which we did ! We never heard of a motel closing for 2 days .Like I said he was not too friendly , asking for anything extra like towels, ice ,TP was such an unconvinced to him , not very friendly but overall for the price and cleanliness it was very good I would stay again but bring my own TP and ask to have my linens changed and to have more...

Rooms are tiny but clean and do serve there purpose if you just need some rest or want to get cleaned up after the long desert stretch or after coming down from KM on your they-hike. I’m giving it 3 stars not because of anything wrong but because of room size and the cost compared to other places I’ve stayed while on the trail for around the same price of $55 and with better accommodations however because it’s the only option before you reach Ridgecrest it adds to the value of the rooms. I would definitely recommend if you’re just passing thru and only want a good nights rest and a cleaning and you don’t mind being a little cramped but if you require more space or more services then I recommend you go to Ridgecrest about 8 miles east on 178. Classic Burgers is good fast food cooked to serve right...
